For anyone Reading my review for the first time, you will not be disappointed if you visit Roots. Please see my previous reviews in 2013, 2014 and 2015. My husband and I didn't manage to get out for Christmas 2016 but missed our winter fix so managed to squeeze a week in. I would like to say that nothing has changed but that's not quite true. Quite a bit has changed since we visited in 2016. Steve, Clare and the team are constantly updating the facilities. The Eco huts are all in place now, there is an outside covered dining area and area around the fire has now been enclosed which gives a wonderful intimate atmosphere to while away the evening hours. The staff continue to provide excellent service and respond graciously to your requests. The food I have to say is better this year for some reason. Not that it wasn't good before because it was but it just seems better. I had some wonderful dives on the house reef and overall had a wonderful week at Roots. Looking forward to going back at Christmas. Thank you everyone for another wonderful week xxx

As someone who started diving in 1972 and has seen many dive operations over the years I cannot but disagree with those who have written bad reviews about this dive centre. Maybe these people are not "real divers". The staff at Subex are more than friendly, the operation is extremely professional in the way it's run and I was more than relaxed on every dive I undertook with them. Being a Master Scuba Diver of many years who has dived conditions from sub zero to high tropics, I think I'm qualified to give an unbiased and rational review of this centre. Would I dive with them again? - yes, every time with Subex without question. Oh, and special thanks to Stephanie and Roland for looking after me so well - as they do all their divers. Keep up the good work.

The title says it all really...the Flamenco dive centre were friendly and catered for new divers like myself.
I would not have felt the same level of safety if diving with the Moevenpick. How can you trust your life to someone who can't even speak in a civillized manner?
The Flamenco arranged a trip to Abu Dabab, which was amazing and beautiful, and I felt well looked after.

One of the best Places worldwide for housereef diving.
Very friendly crew. Very competent and helpful.
Nice Zodiac- taxi service to the outer housereef points.
Nitrox for free and different tank sizes as you like! Great!!!!!!

We have stayed at the Hilton but after previous reccomendation for this diving centre and some great email communication from Sabina we have decided to go with them. They exceeded expectations. The dive centre is big, well organised and Nader was a great host that made you feel at ease and welcomed. Equipment is well maintained, great variety of dive sites, very professional team. Very flexible depending on your experience they will try to accomodate your 'requests' from turtles to dolphins and the dugong. We were very blessed and saw them all. Lunch on the boat was varied, with a variety of cold mezze, salads and even pasta all freshly cooked.
They pick up and drop off from all local resorts. Reasonably priced without intermediary tour agencies. We definetly hope to come and dive again with them.

Great to see the history preserved. It doesn't take long to visit the fort and there are signs in English and Arabic to explain the exhibits. Great view from the top of the round tower.

Very photogenic old mosque next to the new one. Interesting old part of town surrounded by old buildings with traditional carved wooden balconies and near the old wooden fishing boats on the beach.

Door Hassan prima verzorgde tweedaagse uitstap naar Sataya.
Een tweedaagse boottrip naar Sataya geboekt bij Aquatic Divers (aquaticdivers.com) via viator.com. Keurig op tijd opgehaald bij ons hotel voor het vervoer naar Hamata Port waar de (op Egyptische wijze) gerenoveerde 'Gloria' lag. De hutten op het bovenste dek zijn voorzien van airco. Personeel aan boord is vriendelijk en professioneel. Onze gastheer Hassan was een zeer vriendelijke professional die uitstekend in staat was het iedereen naar de zin te maken. Na anderhalf uur varen arriveerden we bij Sataya waar de kans om dolfijnen te zien enorm groot is. Het is raadzaam om een tweedaagse trip te boeken. De dagtrips gaan in de loop van de middag alweer naar huis waardoor het 's middags en 's ochtendsvroeg minder druk is zodat je met minder mensen naar de dolfijnen gaat om te snorkelen. Wij hebben enorm veel dolfijnen gezien en er ook lang mee kunnen snorkelen. Het eten aan boord van de Gloria is prima en een wonder dat ze zo inventief kunnen zijn in een kleine kombuis. Ze hebben zelfs een heerlijke verjaardagstaart voor onze dochter gemaakt.
Als ik hier terug kom zal ik zeker nogmaals bij Aquatic Divers boeken. Prijstechnisch ook nog eens stukken beter dan via je eigen reisorganisatie in het hotel.

Well worth checking in with these guys if you’re staying at the Sentido Oriental Dream resort.
They’re on-site, left hand side of the beach looking at the sea, although you’ll bump into their staff around the hotel & pools.
Good service for existing divers, excellent place to try it out or do your certifications.
Daily shore based, 2 tank dives in the local area, 20-30 minute transfers, back in time for lunch.
All day 2 tank, boat diving out of Port Ghalib, shared with the snorkelers & try divers so a good day out for those mixed groups.
Usual mix of PADI & SSI courses as well as night dives, trips to Elphinstone etc.
Good quality, well maintained rental gear.
Friendly & helpful dive guides & staff.
Reasonably priced too.
Would definitely use them again if in the area.

I have been to El Quseir several times but now I met the Crew from Aquatic Divers, who opened a new Diving Center with two bases, one in Zerib Kebir (at a beautiful bay which enables great dives for beginners and experienced divers) and another at the Fanadir Resort. The Fanadir Resort is my favorite place in Egypt for it is a small Hotel without all the trouble which may be caused by main tourism, but is clean, friendly and extraordinary friendly. And the Aquatic Dive Center fits perfectly to this hotel. Adeva and Miso (the Managers) provide good equipments and great service - and there is a gorgeous house reef with lots of Canyons, Caves and fish. So the combination of Fanadir Hotel und Aquatic divers will be one the most recommended places for divers who like a familiar atmosphere and the possibility for great dives.
