The volunteers here were very friendly and helpful. And there is a printed English copy of the guide available. The view from the top is interesting because although the top of the fort is only a couple of meters above ground level it’s so flat around you can see for miles. We went on the cheese market day as it isn’t open very often. It closed at 15:00h thevday we were there and is worth at least 2 hours or more. It’s a 10 minute cycle ride from the centre of Edam but a much longer walk. It really is good value for the small entrance price.

Cheese and Edam, Edam and Cheese the two just go together. Beautiful little town. Loved the architecture and people. A must do in the Netherlands.
