Should you have some time on your hands, this is a great to visit and perhaps walk off some steam plus this allows the others in tow to share some privacy as well as quiet time too.
The best way to see may be to peruse by car and the settle on a place to walk about or simply sit and inhale the serenity of these gorgeous surroundings. One of a few very nice parks in Dubuque and worthwhile to see particularly in the Fall!

Beautiful park well worth hiking in. My family (with kids aged 6, 4 and 2) loved it, as it had such different areas to walk in: some rockier faces, a woody trail, a marsh trail (in which we saw nature in action: a snake eating a frog!).
Definitely a must if you like hiking.

Wonderful friendly and very active church that welcomes visitors to see the Tiffany windows. WOW. They have stories and materials and this is not a stop to be missed. Stop in your frantic sightseeing and pause to refresh yourself spiritually at this wonderful site. Handicapped entrance in back and very friendly bathroom for someone in a wheelchair.

Stone Cliff Winery

Originally stopped here for a Mystery Dinner we signed up for. Arrived a couple of hours early because we heard they had live music. The live music in the bar area was great! However, we were sort of disappointed by the selection of wines available. Most of them were sweet, and we were dry wine drinkers - not much to choose from. Then we went to the Mystery Dinner. The play was quite entertaining, but the food was almost inedible! We were VERY shocked by the poor offering and the quality, as we had paid over $50 for this dinner play. When we left to go to our car which was parked towards the back of the lot, we noticed a Hyvee Catering van next to the building. We were sooooo shocked that a nice winery would hire a grocery store to cater food for a $50 per person play - that answered our question as to why the food was so bad. I will never attend one of these plays again.

We always try to have a short visit in the casino just to do something different. We're not gamblers, but this casino has a really fun bowling alley in the upper floor of the casino. Unfortunately the time we visited had league bowling going on and we couldn't bowl. Its really fun and a nice thing to do with family. The drawback to this casino is that it smells so bad like smoke. I don't understand why they have to have smoking, as it has wrecked the place.

Crystal Lake Cave

Reviewed By cwitkows - Chicago, Illinois

This is a nice, family run cave with some interesting formations and crystals - it doesn't have big "rooms" but still has enough to see to make the 45 minute tour more then worth doing. The guide was informative and funny, so the time went fairly quickly.
It is a pretty natural feeling cave - it doesn't have concrete/paved floors and the tunnels can get a bit small and wiggly, but that is part of the fun. We have been in a number of caves, and all of them have good/different stuff to appreciate.

It would be a great introduction for kids - they also have a panning station and sell bags of mix with fossils and/or minerals (which did not skimp on the take-home finds based on the results that we saw kids getting)

Tours start on the hour, though there is enough to look at in the gift shop to take up a few minutes while waiting.
