Clearwater Beach

With hundreds of things to do on Clearwater Beach, the main attraction is still pretty much its near-perfect beach (USA Today readers voted Clearwater Beach "Best Beach Town in Florida" in 2013). Beautiful white sand and clear, shallow water make this beach an ideal playground for families.

We loved walking along the beach, lovely fine white sand. Sunsets were beautiful, Saw dolphins as well from Pier 60.

Caladesi Island State Park

One of Florida's few remaining undisturbed barrier islands.

This is definitely the highlight of our vacation in Clearwater. We drove to Honeymoon Island park and bought tickets for the first ferry out to Caladesi Island. It's got beautiful white sand, tons of shells, nature trails and emerald waters. We spent the entire allowed day there. The whole family can enjoy while relaxing since it's got a huge beach and not many people.

Nice walking paths. Beautiful beach, turquoise water. Not very crowded. 8$ for a car. Recommend bringing chairs and umbrella. Changing facilities are clean and dry. There is bicycle rental right before the causeway next to a Subway to take your lunch to eat at beach. Plenty of picnic tables.

This stadium was the least outstanding of the Grapefruit League ball parks we visited. There are few seats with shade - none of them behind home plate. You can’t walk around the outfield which is rare. The staff is friendly. There are multiple parking options in the area.

My Aunt is a local and has taken jewelry classes here for a year now. She asked me to come with her during my recent vacation. I wasn't sure that I would be able to make anything, since I have no experience in this. The art center is large and filled with beautiful artwork of all kinds, that the students have created. Upon entering her class, I was warmly greeted by the teacher and the other ladies taking the class. During this particular class, they were going to make a necklace out of copper wire that would require a lot of work. I was a bit intimidated at first, thinking I'll never be able to do this, as the other students were commenting how difficult and tedious this project would be even for them. The teacher allowed me to make a bracelet, of the same design, so it was a little shorter and wouldn't take so much time. Everyone was helpful in explaining things and working with me. The class lasted 2 1/2 hrs total and within 2 hours I had completed a beautiful bracelet that I was able to take home with me. I was shocked that I had actually made something like this and have received complements on it already. If you're in the area, it's a great place to stop in for a visit and perhaps even see what classes are available. There's people around to inquire about what is available to best fit your desire.
