We had such a fun time each and every time we go to PNC Park ⚾️ The food is Fabulous and the ball game so much fun. Trying to catch a foul ball or a T-Shirt shot from an Air Gun can’t be beat. And ALL of the Stadium’s food soooi delicious !! So Get Yourself to Pittsburgh and make certain that a Baseball Game with the Pirates in number 1 on Your TO-DO List!!! ⚾️

It is a short (10 minute) walk from downtown Pittsburgh (Cultural District area) to the golden triangle or tip where 3 rivers meet. This free park is bustling with families, joggers, people walking or biking. From Point State Park, you can see across the river to the sports stadiums, and view the Warhol, Carson and Clemente bright yellow sister bridges. There is a historical section for Fort Pitt open during the day.

It is nearly impossible to explore Pittsburgh using ConnecTix Day Pass without visiting Station Square on the South Side, so you might as well ride the lovely preserved Mon Incline (which is located next to the Station Square T station) up the Mount Washington for awesome shots of the magnificent Pittsburgh skyline and the three rivers. You will never regret doing it.

The Roberto Clemente bridge, which is also known as the Sixth Street Bridge, is on the North side of Pittsburgh and crosses the Allegheny River. Construction started in 1925 and was completed in 1928. The bridge closes on game days when the Pirates are home and this is a very cool local thing to be able to walk over the bridge to get to your car or go to dinner. The bridge has a section where people hang locks bestowing their love for one another and it’s cool to see. Clearly the best tome to see the bridge is at night viewing the cityscape beyond it.

I came as a personal pilgrimage. The church opens promptly at 1 and not before. A tad dusty, which takes a bit of the sparkle out of the experience. The number and presentations of saintly relics is overwhelming. I felt like the air I breathed in there was full of the Holy Spirit. Disappointed that there are no more books about the chapel, because you are prohibited from taking photos. I don’t understand why ppl with dslr/smartphones are prohibited as no further light would add to light damage. If you cannot buy the book and you can’t take pictures......???? Grumble. Your spirit can not help but be lifted at the presence of thousands of the church’s heroes and heroines. Be there for the 1 pm tour then use the rest of the time to just soak in the atmosphere. Gift shop is a bit full of religious items easily obtained by any Christian bookstore. Not to sound too mercenary, but why not have reverently made 3rd class relics? Spread the religious “wealth.” Catholic or not, it is an experience that will be forever in your mind. So, so glad I pinched and saved to come here.
