1. Sweetwater Creek State Park

I visited the park in order to see the ruins of the New Manchester Factory. Life in New Manchester, now encompassed by Sweetwater State Park, centered around a huge 5-story textile mill. The mill was powered by a headrace channel diverted from Sweetwater Creek.
It was in full production on July 9th of 1864 when US soldiers forced their way into the factory and set the building ablaze. After being detained in Kentucky, the factory workers were set free North of the Ohio River as long as they swore allegiance to the Union and promised not to return to Georgia.
New Manchester did not survive the loss of its employment base and majority of its population, but the 5-story brick walls of the factory still tower above the creek.
This weekend the park celebrated New Manchester days with historic demonstrations and reenactments.

This place is the jewel (or gold nugget) of Villa Rica. Fun for kids of all ages. Super informative and we'll maintained. It gets better and better every year. They have lots of events throughout the year. I can't say enough good things about it.

I had a father's clock renovated by this group. They had several more expensive clocks on site for sale and repair.. It took a year, for my clock to be refurbished, but the wait was worth it and the clock is still working, even though it remained quiet for a long period of time,

Not necessarily what you want. All of the core shops are here and food court is limited - maybe right places at most to eat. I used to work in this mall and it is certainly not the worst mall I have worked in but it’s not a destination mall. Closest mall in Douglas County I just wish there was more variety of shops. It is a safe clean mall though. Like I said it has what you need maybe just not exactly what you want.

This course is located in Hiram GA. We originally wanted to play The Frog which was in Villa Rica but they had a tournament that day and did not have any available tee times until late I the day. When we arrived, Thursday around noon, the parking lot was half full and seemed to be lots of folks on the driving range so we thought we might have some difficulty walking on without tee times. But it turned out to not be a problem and we got signed in and out on the course right away. The course was busy but the pace moved well. It is a fairly tight course though and if you don't keep the ball in the fairway you will lose a number of balls. The course does not return to the clubhouse after the 9th hole but after playing the 10th hole you are close enough to hop over to the clubhouse. The 18th hole is a par 5 with an island green and you have to be careful with your second shot as one can reach the water with the second shot if not careful.

We did the Hillbilly Hell. We were told to arrive by 9:30. Once there and checked in however, they told us our adventure would not start until 10, giving everyone enough time to go to the restroom, get there in time, etc. They didn't actually take us back there until 10:10.
While waiting, an employee who appeared to be in charge, came out and was chatting with the various groups of people excited to experience Hillbilly Hell. His language was not the cleanest (at least one F bomb was dropped), nor was he professional. He began explaining the rules and expectations and turned to another employee asking her if he forgot anything. She stuttered over her words, and before she could get out what she was trying to say, he proceeded to make fun of her and suggested she had Special Needs while doing a motion with his hands. I was absolutely appalled by that behavior. Even if someone is a playing a part, under no circumstances is that okay.
Finally we were taken to where the game began. The actors did a great impression of what one would imagine a hillbilly would sound like. It started off lighthearted and funny, until we got to this certain character. He began cracking dirty jokes, and trying to keep it light hearted, most everyone in our group laughed. But it didn't stop there. This man was downright vulgar. He dropped his overalls exposing his rear in one scene. He made some extremely inappropriate comments as well. If would be different if it added to the show or character, but sadly it didn't. It made me extremely uncomfortable. He appeared to be having the same effect on several other people in our group as well.
When doing an escape room adventure, the people you are paired with can really make or break your experience. We were in a group of 14 people. That is too large of a number. One light was given out to the entire group in an extremely dark setting in the woods. The man who had the light would go off and look for clues on his own, leaving everyone else to fend for themselves. The actors stated several times (while trying to stay in character), that we needed to all stick together and the clues would be easier to work through. This guy did not seem to care. At this point, several people in our group were very frustrated, one even making the comment that she was ready to leave.
The concept of this outdoor adventure was great, however I don't think it was executed very well. While the actors stayed in character the whole time, we weren't given very clear instructions on what to do, where to go etc. Several times we all were just standing around not knowing what we were doing.
Based on the unprofessionalism by the first employee, to the vulgarness of one of the characters, to the unorganized execution of the adventure itself, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

I had never been through an escape room, but I had a general idea of what to expect. My expectations were exceeded! The clues were clever, the puzzles tricky, and the over quality was excellent.
One thing that I really appreciated was the fact that all of the clues and puzzles tied into the theme. There was no, "I found a pad lock. Look, there's a random number written under this lamp. That must be the combination". Everything worked together great. AND, there's a super awesome surprise half way through...but that's all I'm going to say about that!.

This is a modern range and facility located on Bankhead Hwy; as you are driving out of Douglasville, the range is on the right (train tracks to the left). The facility is modern, clean and convenient. They have decent prices on target ammunition, which means you will pay just a little more (perhaps 10%) for target-grade than you might pay in a major retailer, which is well worth the convenience. They do have rental firearms available, which is great if you are just getting into shooting or if you just want to try something different. They do offer guns for sale, but I would suggest shopping around before buying a gun here, as their prices are not always competitive. Otherwise, the store area offers accessories and apparel, also not always price-competitive, but worth it if you need something like a magazine loader and you left yours at home. They do offer coaching on the range, if you need it. The range is separated from the store by a double barrier, which is standard, but this range seems to do better than most in minimizing the amount of range noise you are subjected to in the store area. The range itself is split in half; pistols to the left and long guns to the right (if memory serves correctly). If I am not mistaken, the lanes are 25m deep (although I might be off on that), and each shooting station has a computerized control for your target. Also, each shooting point has an 8-foot high divider between your station and the station to the left or the right (which is great, as you don't have to worry about someone else's hot brass raining down on you while you focus). If you are in the area, go check them out.

This is an interesting and relaxing place to visit. Numerous events are held here during the year. Every Wednesday evening in June and July, there are Jazz Concerts called Wednesday Wind Down. It is also the site of the Taste of Douglasville. The fountain is relaxing, and it is historic.
