Bike Bus

In 2002, I came across Castelnaud in the Céou Valley, and I knew this would be a great place to rent out a bunch of bikes. I started slowly with only 10 bikes and a nice van, re-investing every year to build the business up. After 15 years, and several letters of encouragement to the Mairie, local wisdom saw fit to change the status of the valley road into a 'Voie Verte' (Cycle Path in English) and this provided a great boost to Castelnaud and to the villages south of the Dordogne . Bike Bus is now the biggest and loveliest bike rental in the Dordogne, and I'm pleased that we remain as supple and approachable as we were at the start. We now have over 250 snazzy bikes and accessories for adults and children, route cards for all our circuits and we are open everyday, all year round from 09h00 to 19h00. Due to the high demand though, to save disappointment and time at the shop, it is advisable (and cheaper) to reserve and prepay online.

Joel is a very easy going guy. He is easy to reach by phone or e-mail. More importantly the bikes are in great condition, suitable for the terrain and rented out at a fair price. I had no issues at all, picked up the bike and immediately rode off for a ride. Joel knows the area very well and can advise you on great routes to ride. There are also suggested routes on his website, soon one I made will be added :)
