We spent an hour wandering around the Emporium before running out of time, with another commitment. Both of us agreed that we would have to come back to complete our browsing. The range of items is diverse and extensive. There’s something for everyone. Whether it be glassware, vinyl albums, garden ware, books, jewellery or many other things in between, it’s all worth the time to wander around.

Lillico Beach Conservation Area

I took my daughter & granddaughter here about 3 weeks ago. It was a great experience the volunteers are very informative & helpful. A possum came out of the trees while we were there & ran straight up the arm of one of the helpers. The penguins are so cute & we were there for a good hour or so. Quite happy to leave a donation for the great conservation these people do so we can all enjoy it without the commercialisation.

Reliquaire

A toy shop, quirky gift shop, clothing shop, bookstore, pantry, cafe and generally somewhere to just spend time looking around while marvelling at the variety and scope of the merchandise. I spend time enjoying a great coffee, relaxing and making a mental note of things that I wanted to buy as presents for my family. After spending a considerable time perusing the shop, I came away with numerous gifts which were unique, well priced and very different.

This place is in a good location to stop while driving on the Bass Hwy. We were there during December. After paying admission to pick strawberries, we found there were very few ripe berries. We also bought a bottle of blackberry jam. There are lots of seeds in the jam. We even found a twig.

Wow, the setting, the wine, the platters, the host, Tim!! It was a dreary day weather wise but there was nothing dreary about our time here! The cellar door is set up in an old shearing shed where we tasted an array of wines and then settled in for few hours of wine and amazing platters. Will certainly be returning soon! A must go to winery!!

The Leven Canyon circuit is a great walk, we debated whether to go clockwise or anticlockwise, having chosen clockwise we had to climb the 697 stairs, but weighing this up against the steep climb back to the car park going anticlockwise we decided it was pretty evens. Either way when you get to the lookout the view is stunning and well worth the climb.

For young and old who like Steam Trains this venue offers a short ride along the DON River to the sea front. 2 or 3 hours should rap it up as they do not have an extended line to go further. There are workshops with restoration of carriages in progress so one can see machinery of the period.

Spirit of Tasmania

Spirit of Tasmania is one of Australia’s most iconic travel experiences, operating sailings across Bass Strait between Melbourne and Devonport on Tasmania’s north coast. Spirit of Tasmania provides travellers with flexibility and convenience when planning a holiday. Our twin ships depart from both ports at 7.30pm and arrive the following morning at 6.00am. During peak season, we also operate day sailings departing from each port at 9.00am and arriving the same day at 6.00pm. On board, you can experience spectacular views, delicious food, great entertainment, relaxation and so much more! Experience the allure of sea travel. It’s fun, relaxing and stress-free. Simply drive on board for a holiday where half the fun is getting there. Embrace the ocean views, stroll the decks and breathe in the sea breeze - there’s nothing quite like it!

Reviewed By Gwen G - Launceston, Tasmania, Australia

Our outward bound trip was okay but return from Melbourne awful. We waited over an hour to board and when we finally did, had we been fat, there is no way we could have got out of the car or squeezed our way past the vehicles to the door we were so close to the wall. The main meal is reasonably priced but drinks and desert very expensive. They charge to see the movies - just a DVD. But there are lots of TV's showing different channels. It is very expensive to take caravans but travellers have no choice and the wait to travel is months.
