Great company to go whale watching with. Carrie truly loves and know the wales you see and it's nice to know you are with a marine biologist instead of a tour company. She is very careful and gentle with the whales and doesnt disturb them. As someone who gets sea sick, I also greatly appreciate their smoother boats that don't stink of diesel. We got to sea some cool birds, sea lions and fish as well.

Part of the Otter Crest Loop Road is one way only south bound, so best driven from the north end where it conects to Hiway 101. The vistas are breath taking, very worth the 15 minute diversion!

There is always a great photo opportunity when you stop at this wayside. There is plenty of parking so you can stretch you legs and plenty to see (crashing waves) to fill your senses as you make your way up or down 101.

Ainslee's Salt Water Taffy

We are a family owned and operated candy shop on the Oregon coast. We have used the same recipes for the past seventy years we have been in business. Come on by and watch us make our candy right there in the shop! We specialize in fresh, homemade candies and use local ingredients whenever possible.

I'm not a real fan of Taffy because it always sticks to my teeth. Ainslee's taffy is so fresh it just melts in your mouth! Many different yummy flavors to choose from and they were all so good I couldn't decide which one was my favorite. Though the cinnamon flavor was delicious. Ainslee also offers sugar free taffy which is imported from a Portland Oregon Taffy factory. The SF taffy was good but not quite as fresh. We also purchased some SF chocolate turtles and chocolate coconut stacks which were very tasty. Ainslee offers popcorn in different varieties and ice cream and lots of different candies. The staff were super nice, the gentleman behind the big cooker was kind enough to let me take a picture, posing just right! If you have kids, they are going to LOVE coming here and if you don't have kids, YOU are going to love coming here. Highly recommend.
