Laws Whiskey House

But exactly what is a whiskey house? To us it’s a place dedicated to whiskey, a temple of sorts, a place to come and explore your passion for whiskey. Make no mistake about it, Laws Whiskey House is a distillery, but more than that it is where we can educate and share everything we know and love about whiskey.

Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey Tour

A ton of fun! Our tour guide David gave an in-depth overview into the distillation process of Stranahan’s single malt whiskey as well as the history of the brand. We also learned about bottling and how the barrels are made. We were provided three different tastings and you get to keep the free tasting glass as well as a nice discount on bottles you purchase at the distillery. I would highly recommend if you are a whiskey lover!

Molly Brown House Museum

This antique-filled Victorian house was the home of Molly Brown, not only a famous survivor of the Titanic, but so much more. Entry to the Museum has changed in light of COVID-19. In order to protect our guests, volunteers, and staff all guests are now required to purchase tickets online before arriving at the Museum. Guests will be allowed to enter the Museum for a self-guided tour every 20 minutes with no more than 6 people per entry time.

If you are interested in gaining history about one of Denver's most famous citizens, the Molly Brown House Museum should be on your list of sightseeing while in Denver! I had a couple of hours to spare in the middle of the day, while in town for a conference. I was able to walk over to the Molly Brown House Museum from my hotel on 16th Street with ease. Once arriving, the tour guide, Suzette, was amazing. She was so knowledgeable about Margaret "Molly" and JJ Brown, their family, and what brought them to Denver. Additionally, the restoration of the home is absolutely AMAZING! To see how the Browns lived all those years ago, how fascinating. This is definitely a tour to not miss. Make sure you stop by the gift shop for some unique souvenirs including special Harney & Sons tea that is make specifically for the Molly Brown House Museum and a bookmark which is a replica of the impressive stain glass windows that are found inside the house.

This review is mainly for the Holiday Zoo lights as this was my first and only time visiting the Denver Zoo. There are so many beautiful, creative light displays covering the entire zoo. There are also a limited amount of animals on display; I especially enjoyed the giraffes. The grounds were easy to walk and the layout was a loop that ensured that you didn't miss anything. There are a few bathrooms and concession strands throughout the zoo, so you don't have to back track or run around looking for one. The concession tents offered hot chocolate and cider(with the option to spike with holiday spirits), pretzels, churros funnel cake and a few adult beverages(including Rosé in a can). This event sells out quickly every night and the parking lot is usually full, so I recommend taking Uber or Lyft. It's a fun time for all ages and I highly recommended to everyone.... just make sure you bundle up!
