Best place to see stars in Pa. This is great for stargazing. Set up for stargazing with banks to help keep out light from cars etc. They had park rangers there to help with people not understanding why you need to keep lights off so you can enjoy the night sky. Thank to rangers. If you can go around the new moon.

Coudersport Ice Mine

The Ice Mine is a seasonal attraction. We are open from Memorial Day thru Labor Day.

Reviewed By Laura M - Pittsburgh, United States

The staff were friendly here but that is the only positive feedback we have. The "tour" lasts about 2 minutes. It begins with a vague story about following Native people to find their silver in the 1800s. You don't go into the mine, you just view the ice from above. You literally pay $5 per person to look at a pile of ice. Also, the store is filled with signs about guns that are threatening. Please keep driving!!!

We loved it here. When we arrived the normal guide wasn't there but the chap (and am so sorry didn't get his name) who works in the office let us in and showed us around. He was brilliant and we actually spent nearly 2 hours in there! Room after room of amazing collections of various things from uniforms to wooden carvings, history of area to gramophones-just really eclectic collection. My favourite was a massive mini fairground carved from wood that all moved and a carrousel too-amazing amount of work. If your in this area please do visit here, there is no entrance fee-just donations welcome if you havd the means

It's getting hard to find a decent little minigolf place these days. Either they're rundown and shabby little places that haven't been kept up or they're loud neon-covered expensive places in tourist traps.

How about an under $5 course that obviously has years of history but that's well kept up with renovated greens, traps, and buildings and is thoughtfully put together with fun and well-designed holes. What a surprise.

Traveller minigolf nirvana. My wife and I spent a great 45 minutes here and would recommend it highly to others either passing through or in the area for a few days of sightseeing. We wouldn't drive the 300 miles back to the area just to golf here again but if we ever are back in the area we'd sure visit again.

(Sorry... we didn't visit the restaurant.)

I was headed through Cherry Springs State Park and came upon this country store. Wow...in this area it is a godsend. Everything you could possibly want with a distinct upstate flavor. Heavy on camping, hunting, tee shirts and caps with the Potter County & Pa Wilds logos. I spent a lot of time going through this store at least twice (good rainy day visit) and now that I am home I want to go back and buy a couple of caps and tee shirts. The people working there were very friendly. The store is jam packed but clean and I couldn't leave without buying some beef jerky. Try this place out you won't be disappointed.
