Instead of going on the $109 excursion of the cruise ship we were on in Cadiz, we booked a tasting at Gutierrez Colonia on our own. The ferry to El Puerto de Santa Maria was only a few blocks from the cruise ship dock, round trip ferry fare was 5.50 Euro. The winery was only a few blocks from the other end of the ferry. And then the tour itself (10 Euro each) was small, only eight of us (but from 5 different countries), but very thorough. And included tasting SIX different varieties of sherry! The guide, one of the owners I think, explained every step and had wonderful anecdotes. I had always thought sherry was like Port, but no! And I had also not known there were so many varieties. And they were all delicious!! We had planned to also go to one of the big bodegas, but after tasting six kinds of sherry, we really didn't think we could do another. but there was no reason to, anyway. We decided, after the tasting, that we had tried the very best , so why look further? This is one of a very few, (three?) small producers left, and their claim to fame is that they are so close to the river, and the sea, that their products taste differently (and better!) than those farther away. My favorite was the Cream, but we also liked the Moscatel and actually, all of them! It was well worth going on our own instead of with a big tour. So if you happen to be in the area, go see them!

We loved the calm rythm of this tour. As the only 2 participants the guide adapted it to our previous activities in Ronda and thereby the tour felt fluid and calm. Our guide was knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed every part of the tour.

I grew up around the corner and have taken many tours and have arranged them, This old Port/Town is packed with History, architecture, Food and Drinks. Situated on a narrow slice of land surrounded by the sea‚ Cádiz is a typically Andalusian city with amazingly attractive views and historical landmarks. The older part of Cádiz within the remnants of the city walls is commonly referred to as the Old Town If your here in February The Carnival of Cádiz is one of the best known carnivals in the world. Throughout the year, carnival-related activities are almost constant in the city; there are always rehearsals, public demonstrations, and contests of various kinds. The Carnival of Cádiz is famous for groups called chirigotas, who perform comical musical pieces. Typically a chirigota is composed of seven to twelve performers who sing, act and improvise accompanied by guitars, kazoos, a bass drum, and a variety of noise-makers. The food & Drink here is amazing as well, please do try all you can,

Guided tour to a winery and relaxed Sherry and Brandy tasting straight from the barrel. Introduction to the ancient relationship of the Jerezanos to the wine while walking through the historic center to the bodega (about 15 minutes), visiting places that tell us something about that history. At the winery, we learn first hand everything about the production of Sherry and Brandy. Of course, we also take time to taste these fine wines and spirits, most of them directly in the wine cellar. This tour is designed only for small groups – I prefer a familiar atmosphere.
Inclusions: Guided tour and commented wine tasting, Entrance to the winery, 5 different Sherry wines and 1 Brandy, 1 small tapa (e.g. olives), Guide certified in wine tourism (Sherry Council)

On a recent trip to Morocco we were given an opportunity to have an extra day of leisure in Casablanca. With some research we soon realized that we would be seeing all of the top attractions in Casablanca during our tour so we started to research the day trips available from Casablanca. This day trip to Tangier drew our attention because it was one place not included in our tour but we were unsure of the tour because it had no reviews. We decided to take a chance and we were very pleased. In fact, this day trip was one of the highlights of our trip. We were met at the Tangier train station by our local guide Bilal who was excellent. Bilal and the driver took the three of us on a fantastic tour of Tangier which included the Tangier Medina, the Hercules Cave and much more. We had a delicious lunch in a small family run local restaurant which was not included but was reasonably priced. We even had a chance to take a ride along the beach on some dromedaries (one humped camels). The high speed (298 km/hr) train ride from Casablanca to Tangier which is include is two hours each way allowing a chance to see the landscaping along the coast of Morocco. Just make sure you receive your train tickets prior to your tour. All in all an excellent day. I would recommend.

Born in Vejer and I live in Seville, besides living in Granada and Córdoba. I know Andalusia in depth. For 2 years I was responsible for the Forge XXI Foundation in Morocco, which worked for the personal and professional development of children. There we discovered the possibilities offered by activities related to tourism and history. And there began my love for Arab, Jewish and Christian cultures. I have been working as a guide for more than 10 years and I have organized routes for the IES Vicente Aleixandre, in meetings with International Students. I have a degree in Psychology and Expert in History of Spain
