We stayed in the Lodge hotel. Easy access off and on I-5. Room was good size and bathroom was good size too. Stocked with toiletries and fridge and safe in room too. Room came with free breakfast buffet that offered a good assortment of choices. Not everything was fresh but overall a pretty good buffet. Casino was fun especially because we played for several hours and broke even!

In addition to buffet there is also a very nice restaurant that we ate at one night and were greatly impressed with the food and service.

We went to Woodson Bridge State Recreation Area. It is a day use area as well as campground.

We thought the park was very beautiful with all its oak trees. It is along the Sacramento River between Chico and Red Bluff.

We also saw some eagles while we were there.

There is a boat launch ramp.

Green Doors Tavern

Reviewed By Jeff E - Redding, California

I had the privilege of stopping at the Green Doors Tavern with some local patrons for a very relaxing lunch. The food was terrific - I had a hamburger with fries and the other two people had a French dip sandwich. The hamburger was cooked precisely to my request. The fries were exceedingly good as well. Sadly, we could not indulge in a beer but the bar seemed well stocked. What stood out the most was the service! Wow!! The people there were so nice - even the owner came over and chatted with us for a bit. This was a great experience and I will be going back as soon as possible. FYI, the tavern is a little off the beaten path, but it is worth finding!!
