Cooktown Barrier Reef Charters

Cooktown Barrier Reef Charters are here to provide you with a full day or multi-day charter service departing from historic Cooktown to the world famous Great Barrier Reef. Whether bottom fishing with handlines, trolling for giant Black Marlin or popping lures over the reef, our objective is to make your trip a memorable experience. Working out of Cooktown since 1995 we offer years of fishing experience and local knowledge. By limiting client numbers we ensure you have a personalised and quality service – why fish elbow to elbow with the masses, when you can spread out aboard "The Pink Boat". You can also enjoy a relaxing snorkel, or just kick back and view the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef. Situated between Cairns and Lizard Island, Cooktown is a 40 minute scenic flight from Cairns serviced by Hinterland Airlines with numerous daily flights. Cooktown is the most easterly point to the Great Barrier Reef and the closest town to the reef. Just 10 miles to Egret & Boulder which means much more fishing time. The inland road from Cairns is now bitumen all the way, so why not drive on up and experience the best Cooktown has to offer. Andy and his experienced team guarantee you the best fishing in North Queensland. Call Andy today and talk to him about your requirements. Bring the family, friends or your group...the best part about Andy is he knows where the FISH ARE!!!!

Riverbend Tours

With three consecutive Certificates of Excellence under our belt, Riverbend Tours offers a unique Sunset Cruise experience in crocodile country on the Endeavour River in Cooktown. Board Nautilus late in the day. Be sure to bring your own bottle of wine and prepare yourself for a magnificent Cape York sunset. We will explore the harbour in the long afternoon light and then head upstream to watch the sunset over the distant ranges. While navigating the maze way of smaller creeks we serve a complimentary gourmet cheese platter featuring produce from Gallo's, an award winning local dairy. After dark, spotlights add a whole new perspective to the impenetrable walls of mangrove that line the river. Listen to some stories about Cook’s infamous passage along the Cape, about devastating cyclones, about the glory days of pearling luggers and about the new Cooktown, gateway to the frontier. Affordably priced at $49, this sunset cruise can make for a wonderfully peaceful way to end the day.

If this course was on the mornington peninsular they’d charge you $100 a game. Similar the gold or Sunshine Coast We saw the previous reviews but took it upon ourselves to play this - and we enjoyed it. The club is staffed by volunteers, and is a truly beautiful place. It’s been very dry lately but when they get some rain the fairways will bounce back. You might want to take some water or grab a buggy but the views are worth the effort And it’s a true test. The holes are a great mix and really use the undulations of the landscape well - oh and did I mention those views. Chris one of the volunteers said when the wind blows up there it’s a real challenge. - we did it Keep up the good work guys - what you’ve created is something Cooktown should be proud of. Oh - and we think we saw a cassowary footprint so look out!
