Zona arqueologica de Comalcalco

One year later here again! Nice interesting ruins to see. You can wonder about at your own pleasure which I really enjoyed. Whilst seeing the biggest pyramid i could hear from the jungle bushes wild monkeys which gave us the fright! Very funny though! It is really interesting to see trees which create glue!!! And cocoa trees as well!!! Just one big warning... put cream to keep giant mosquitos away from you! This year I had no mosquito bites, but still remember the ones from last year.

Hacienda Cacaotera Jesus Maria

Overall I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Going in I thought we would get a tour of a working cacao farm. However it was more of a tour of local plants including cacao, vanilla and other species. We did get to see the machines involved in making the cacao but maybe it was the time we went there because there was no actual chocolate making. The little gift shop was decent. We were able to sample all the different types of chocolate and chocolate drinks and were able to purchase some to take home.
