Located in South Goa, Colva Beach (21 km from airport) is generally christened as the familyman’s beach in Goa. In contrast to the north Goa Baga or Calangute beach, it is relatively quieter still it does not lack in water sports or other activities. We went there in late March. Around fifty percent people were whites – Russsian or from other western countries. They were very disciplined and enjoying their lives without disturbing anybody. Life Guard posts there were very active – on full time duty, whistling at times to alert the adventurous swimmers. Cleanliness was also maintained. A number of sports activities e.g – water sctoors, banana ride, para-sailing, speed boats among others, were there but the prices quite high even during off season. They were not agree to reduce the price.
We visited the beach at sun rise, did long walks – a number of foreigners were seen doing Pranayams and yogas in the wee hours but away from the main beach. We also visited at sun set and enjoyed the rhythm of the sinking sun. We stayed at Colva for full 5 days and enjoyed much more than what we enjoyed at Baga or Calangute previously.

Thursdsy evening 7th December and we visited this beach front bar/restaurant, we did not get here till about 23.00.
We parked up in the car park and walked down a narrow unlit lane to the bar. On arrival it looked rather impressive with a large circular bar with lots of Seating around.
This would certainly be considered a youngsters place, there were a lot of noisey foreign girls, predominantly Russian.
The live music started up and it was impossible to have a conversation. We finished our drinks, which were a bit pricey, and left. Thankfully the lights in the lane way, back to the car park, were lit.
The published opening hours are 8 am till midnight, however we got the impression that it stayed open later, as the live music resumed at about 11.45 when we left.
