What to do and see in Colorado, United States: The Best Breweries

September 11, 2021 Janette Largent

Colorado is home to no less than twenty-six ski resorts such as those in Vail and Breckenridge; other winter activities include snowboarding, sledding, sleigh rides, snow hiking and snowmobiling. The state is blessed with national parks, grasslands and forests where in warmer weather you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing. Wildlife abounds, from bears to moose and raccoons to wolverines. More interested in local history? Head for either the Ute Indian Museum or the Koshare Indian Museum, and don't miss the forts such as Fort Garland and Bent's Old Fort. For a complete change, why not take a ride in a hot air balloon from South Park Valley or Boulder and admire Colorado's picturesque landscape from above?

The rating is solely for the beer, which is some of the most innovative and highest quality in the USA. They have so many styles you are sure to find one (likely many more) that you love. The bar and outside areas are excellent and sipping a great beer in the winter sun is a highlight of any trip to Fort Collins. Now for the tour, which had been on our bucket list since my son started attending CSU. He was finally 21 so we were good to go. Fear and trepidation entered my heart when the first announcement from the tour guide was that he spoke too fast. I think that’s what he said but he spoke so fast I could only catch every third word. So off we went. The beer samples were great but the information was mostly indecipherable.

This place deserves all praise. Kudos to the very friendly and welcoming staff. We were tired from hiking the dunes and headed to mesa verde next. We decided to stop here for lunch which was conveniently on our way. We ordered a beer sampler, highly recommend the following: ( order light to dark beer) trashy blonde, peach wheat, dort porter, freeze cat, black yak, burnt toast, Thursday special. The wood fired pizza was so light and amazing, you cannot go wrong with anything with pepperoni!!! wound up ordering togo dinner to eat later that day.. ???????????????????????? thumbs up to these guys for doing such an incredible job.

We are in the business of beer and not just any beer- we build great beer! Stop by and see us in our newly renovated, century-old building that served as a Cadillac dealership for decades. Now, we pour some of Colorado's finest ales. We also serve up some pretty delicious pub fare to compliment our brews. Stop by and see us!

Finally fed up with porch sitting all day we hopped in the car and drove to Sterling from Loveland to check the brewery out! We could only get to-go beer but it was worth it! We were able to sample and finally chose the Cherry Poppins, Key Lime and Hazy IPA. The owner/brewer gave us additional samples of the coconut porter and Willie IPA - both were excellent - while we waited for food to go. We shared the Royale Burger with Parmesan chips and it was great! Juicy and properly cooked with all the fixings. The chips were good, too. The food menu is extensive and not just bar food. The space is really nice and everyone was so friendly. We talked with the brewer for a while and he has a good thing going! Definitely worth a return trip when things get back to normal.

BURLY Brewing Company

We are a brewery and taproom. We have 24 taps and 5,100 square feet. All of our beer is made here. We focus on traditional styles and tasteful deviations. We have indoor and outdoor seating. Our taproom is spacious and is done in beautiful hardwoods with Edison bulb fixtures throughout. BURLY Brewing Company makes great beer and has a wonderful environment in which to enjoy our beer.

Reviewed By SusanD708 - Castle Rock, United States

In recent years, Castle Rock has exploded with local brewing options. Sadly, many of been mediocre at best. Burly Brewing is a total exception. Excellent options across the board from the lighter, summer options to the dark porters. Located off the beaten path in an industrial park, this one is worth finding on a weekend, especially after a motorcycle ride. Even better when On The Hook, a fish & chip food truck company from Wyoming, is on site. Plenty of indoor seating, a small outdoor patio out front and also an event room. But the beers are stellar!

Breckenridge Brewery

A local brewery.

Reviewed By TPC0118 - Centennial, United States

After a bit of shopping in Littleton, there was definitely an appetite needing to be satisfied around lunchtime. A stop at The Farm House connected to the Breckenridge Brewery hit all of the needed replenishments. Tons of specialty beers including beer bloody’s (refreshment definitely worth trying), beer mimosas and guest taps all made choosing a challenge. Apps are great and terrific to share based on ample portions - we hd the charcuterie board which was outstanding. Soups are homemade and quite hearty and a salad split with fried chicken was more than a meal for two. Parking is ample depending on brewery tour and tasting room volumes and pricing is reasonable. Plenty of TVs on walls to catch sporting events and the service is simply outstanding. Definitely a place we will go back to.

Took Social Distancing seriously. Our servers were incredible and knowledgeable about their beers. Greeted us at the door and seated us on the outdoor patio cleaned and ready to go. Had a flight of beer and tried the Moscow Mule beer for a summer choice and of course had to try the Peanut Butter Chocolate Milk Stout. Moscow Mule light and gingery for summer. Stout was like having dessert. Make sure to drink water in between to not mix all the unique flavors.
