What to do and see in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho (ID): The Best Things to do for Honeymoon

December 19, 2021 Frederic Celentano

While it may sound like a French village, Coeur d'Alene (pronounced core-da-lane) is decidedly all-American. Located in northern Idaho, this lakefront resort offers five-star amenities in a beautifully rugged setting. Visitors enjoy everything from pristine golf courses and professional quality tennis courts to hiking on pine-forested trails and biking through natural preserves. The sparkling Coeur d'Alene Lake is the center of most of the action. Sunbathe on the beach, water ski, kayak or tour the area by sea plane. At night, dine in fine restaurants and see top-rated shows. With upscale attractions in an unspoiled setting, Coeur d'Alene offers visitors the best of both worlds.

Seven Stars Alpaca Ranch was amazing! Our guide, Sonia, was so nice and explained everything as we went around the ranch. You can tell she cares a lot about her animals and is willing to answer any and all questions about them. She offers to take your picture with the animals, and you can pet them. The little gift shop is amazing too, with items even made from the fur of the alpacas on the ranch! This is an excursion you won't regret!

Escape Game Coeur d'Alene

Escape Game Coeur d'Alene is a real live adventure game that pits your wits against a locked room full of clues, cyphers, and secrets. Solve them all in one hour to escape! Just gather your group of 4 to 12 players and get ready for some mind blowing fun!

Reviewed By Oksana349 - Kent, United States

This was my first time playing an escape game and my daughter's second time. The theme was Greek Gods - and that is a huge interest of hers. It took me a moment to figure out what exactly was expected, but clues definitely helped. All in all, we were able to win the game literally at the last second. It was an awesome experience and we would highly recommend. Also, due to COVID, it was only the two of us, without any strangers - and that made it a much better experience, as we could solve it ourselves, without having other people do all the work. I would encourage you to continue running it that way.

First time hiking here and we were on a bit of a time schedule - we took the main loop around the lake. Even tho' the temps were in the hi 30's when we started, the sun eventually came out; and the views are spectacular. Next time we'll take the summit trail. Highly recommend for an easy to moderate hike with spectacular views.

Whispers

This waterfront lounge has a very cool vibe. Whispers’ barstaff puts a superb twist on the classic shaker martini, with flavors like Cosmo, Lemon Drop or Chocolate. Sit indoors or outdoors, with the fireplaces blazing above Lake Coeur d’Alene. Located in The Coeur d'Alene Resort on the lobby level across from the front desk.

We stopped here on our way from Spokane airport to our place in BlackRock to have a drink & small bites. It is in the Coeur d'Alene resort. You can valet your car which was great & it is complimentary. You just need to give them a tip. You can eat inside where you have a view of the marina & lake through clear glass, or if you are lucky enough, you can eat outside right at the marina. Beautiful views. They have heat lamps if it is cool. It was too crowded when I went so I had to eat inside. Still had a beautiful view. Nice cocktail menu & good bar bites.
