Crucian Gold

Crucian Gold is the studio of the Bishop family of artisans and metalsmiths, Brian, Ben, Therese and Nathan. Together they design and create original pieces in gold, silver, copper, and local materials of their island home of St.Croix, VI. Brian grew up sailing and diving in the waters of St. Croix. He first started tying sailing knots in precious metals as a hobby in the 1970's, selling his first jewelry pieces from a handmade mahogany box he carried with him to display and share his budding passion. Now, Nathan and Therese can be found in Crucian Gold on Strand street creating new designs inspired by the history, people, and natural environment of St. Croix. All of the materials they work with come from recycled and eco-friendly sources. FEEL THE LOVE!!

I go to St. Croix annually and this is my first shopping stop always! Unique, one of a kind jewelry designed and crafted by the owner. I have been complimented on every piece I've bought here and look forward to his new designs. His "knot" jewelry is quite unique-never saw anything anywhere else like it. You can get silver or gold and special order anything you'd like. He has made me charms, bracelets and rings from Chaney, shells and black coral. AND, anything you purchase you can return with and he will clean it! I can't wait until next year when I go to St. Croix again and see what new pieces he has concocted!

Prince was awesome! He has so much knowledge about the islands. He was prompt on picking up the phones and returning calls. He picked us up and took us around the island (St.Croix). The journey was super fun. He made sure we were engaged all the time with this sense of humor and little surprises. He made sure we covered all the places on the island. Would definitely recommend him to others!! P.S: Beer drinking pigs are the best part of the trip!

We have done several tours including the night bioluminescence tour with Virgin Kyack as well as rented kyacking and self toured. The service iand guides are top notch as are the Hobie kyacks. The pedal mirage Hobie is used on most of the tours so even the most novice kayakers can feel comfortable. The rates are quite reasonable starting at $40 for a 3-4 hour tandem self guided tour. This is always a highlight of our trips to St Croix.

Rainy day needed some activity so stopped at this nice neighborhood to go for a scenic walk. Sign in at the gate and walk in - do a large loop and can view the bay and the ocean side. You will see some homes still left damaged by the hurricanes as well.

Fort Christiansvaern

An imposing yellow Danish fort built to defend the Christiansted harbor.

Reviewed By StefanieH443 - Lincoln, United States

We found the history of this fort to be so interesting, and although some exhibits were closed due to Covid and renovations, the park ranger told us all about the fort and gave us a binder to do a self-guided tour. The fort is beautifully maintained and includes a dungeon. The history of the fort and the island itself is very sad, but this is a great place to learn about it. Right now, there is no admission fee, but that will obviously change in the future. Parking is free in the small lot next door.
