Braastad Cognac

We wanted to say a big thank you and a big applause to Braastad family ! We had a very interesting, beautiful and tasty visit. Here are the five reasons why: 1) The hosts have produced Cognac over six generations now. We can really feel it is a family business where they put all their energy and passion, 2) Their property is beautiful and in the the nice city of Jarnac 3) The visit is very interesting and we learnt many tips about Cognac and its specific process 4) Their Cognac is one of the best I've ever tried. I especially advise you to try as well their Pineau des Charentes! 5) Please read again the four above reasons! Thank you again to Braastad family for this memorable visit.

Chateau de La Rochefoucauld

Reviewed By Puzzlecombe - Darnac, France

The Chateau has been in the same family for generations and part of it is still lived in and while we were there one of the daughters was having a birthday party in the grounds. Everybody guides and family were very friendly and helpful, huge library and records, even including those of the kings of France. Well worth a visit and for just 10 euros!

Place Trarieux

What a lovely square, surrounded with interesting shops, Boulanger, fantastic boucherie, restaurants and bar. Pick a table, order your coffee, beer or wine and watch life pass by. Aubeterre-sur-Dronne is one of the prettiest villages in France (official) and there are lots of tourists wandering around. Wish we could have stayed longer in the Old Bank apartments.
