Texas Ranch Life

Texas Ranch Life offers a true Texas experience. You can go horseback riding, whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider. The ranch also has fishing, skeet shooting and hunting, with all equipment provided. The ranch offers overnight accommodations, but since it is just an hour from Houston, you can plan to just spend the day.

My best friend and i had our fourth annual fishing trip at Texas Ranch Life this July. This time we stayed at the Lake House that is peaceful and secluded. The fishing lake is directly behind the house so It is very convenient. The accommodations were great and we slept good after three days of fishing. We caught tons of bass, crappie and perch on a variety of baits. It is thrilling to catch the bass on top-water lures. Plastic worms and spinner baits were also very effective. We enjoyed watching the longhorn cattle walk around the lake and wade out to drink. It was nice to hear the birds, especially the quail, chirping as well as the frogs around dusk. Thanks to Taunia and John for another awesome trip. I can't wait until next year!

Texas Star Winery

Reviewed By leejohnsoncohen - Austin, United States

Wine tasting - There is an inside shop / bar area and a large patio with seating for a group. During the tasting we tried 6 wines (3 red / 3 white), most were local too! You can tell that the owners are genuinely passionate and knowledgeable about wine. We were given tips on how to correctly taste and received detailed information on the origins and profile of each bottle before trying. If you find a wine that you like, you can buy it afterwards and get to keep the tasting glasses as a souvenir. Overall, there is a very friendly and relaxed vibe.
