I really enjoyed long walks along the water front on Batumi Blvd. Whether it's early morning or late evening, it's always relaxing to watch fishermen, boats and other interesting attractions, or just sit on a bench and enjoy the blue seaview.
If you're walking from the old city towards the blvd, watch for crazy drivers when you're crossing Rustavelli Ave. Don't rely on street lights or Zebra crossing. Drivers in Batumi have no consideration for pedestrians.

The ruins are quite well-preserved, there are a few information plaques. The view from the top is breathtaking.
I visited it alone, in the early morning and it was really peaceful and beautiful.
Note: Petra fortress is actually located in Tsikhisdziri, a small village near Kobuleti. From Kobuleti you can reach it in about 15 minutes (?) by car.

Georgian sculpters Tamar Kvesitadze and Poata Samia are to be congratulated for their originality.
