What to do and see in Cavelossim, India: The Best Places and Tips

July 24, 2017 Randal Brittian

Cavelossim is the very picture of relaxation, replete with black lava rocks, paddy fields and views of the River Sal. Luxurious spa hotels are your key to blissful escapism. Sprawl on the beach without a care in the world—unless you care about picking up handcrafted souvenirs and keepsakes, which you can do at Cavelossim’s impressive shopping arcade.

Cavelossim Beach

Reviewed By John D - Liverpool, United Kingdom

We were staying at Sernabatim, and got a Taxi Cavelossim for a look around and then our driver took us to the beach.
The beach is lovely, clear water, fine sand and very clean. It was lovely to look at. Then we started walk along parallel to the shore and saw how close the sunbeds were to each other which completely spoiled it for us. They were much closer than anywhere else we went in Goa.The beach is so big, there is absolutely no reason for it. Instead of two rows of beds at each beach shack they could have had three and spread the beds out more whilst still being close to the shacks for drinks and or food.
Even though the sunbeds were free we did not stay. We just found our driver and returned to our hotel, very disappointed.

Mobor Beach

Very calm atmosphere and clean sands are what you can expect at Mobor beach.
On the flip side, you have to carry your own supplies of eats and drinks if you happen to visit in the off-season because the shacks here shut shop during the monsoons. But that should not be a hassle as there are wine shops and restaurants close by to cater to that and you can pick up things on the way to the beach.

A delightful and extremely good value trip morning or evening. Food and drink are included in the 1100 Rupee price. Prawns to start with followed by a slice of Kingfish. Music is provided by a guitar singer. I agree with the comments about the litter on the side of the river but this is common in India where collection services for rubbish may not be too efficient.

Betalbatim Beach

Betalbatim Beach was less than 100 M from Nanu's Ressort where we stayed..
The Beach is very clean, with a large strip of sand that is over 1 Km in length.
Probably because it is lesser known than other Beaches like Colva, there was not much crowd on the beach.
We had the beach practically to ourselves in the mornings - so we walked, jogged, swam as we liked.
We were at the beach in the evening also to watch the brilliant sun set.
It was good to that they had a manned-life guard station. The Life Guard was quite active and alert - he did not loll around in the cabin..
Very glad that we chose to stay so close to Betalbatim Beach as we could visit whenever we wanted during the 3 day stay in Goa.

A very small and cramped casino and probably the only one in South Goa. The kind of people who are present (given it has no entry fee) makes one feel creepy.

Jewellers and Gold Smiths since 1934

Reviewed By Effie92 - United Kingdom

My grandparents first visited Mubaishe probably nearing 10 years ago in his Benaulim shop. I understand that he has a few shops in Goa but we just visited this one.
My grandmother had some jewellery made for her and my grandad had some rings redesigned, they had always talked highly of Mubaishe as they had stayed in contact all of these years. I had always loved their jewellery so when my fiancé and I got engaged I knew I would have to come to Goa to get our bands made.
We met with Mubaishe and spent hours chatting and coming up with ring designs, he offered us tea and coffee and made sure we were comfortable. Our budget was relatively small but he was happy to work with us and try and come up with the best design/product for what we could afford. He is so knowledgeable and his craftsmanship is exquisite! We paid a small deposit and within a few days, our rings were done! We picked them up last night and can’t stop looking at them. We are so impressed that he managed to squeeze 18ct into our budget and the diamonds in my band are spectacular, matched perfectly with my engagement ring (which he polished up so well it looked better than it did the day my fiancé bought it!)
Mubaishe we cannot thank you enough and we will be back, I will recommend you to any of my friends or family.
