What to do and see in Castilla, Community of Madrid: The Best Things to do

June 21, 2021 Milan Banda

So many of Madrid’s buildings look like castles, you’ll think you’ve stumbled into a fairytale. Even City Hall is astounding, with its white pinnacles and neo-Gothic features. A self-guided architecture tour can begin by the great bear statue in the central Puerta del Sol. Wander by the fanciful Royal Palace before absorbing the natural beauty of Retiro Park, then visit one of the city’s many museums. You could happily cap off each day by nibbling on forkfuls of paella while sipping Spanish rioja.

Estacion de Chamartin

Reviewed By M1356QBdavidh - South Portland, United States

I traveled to Segovia from Chamartin; the station is clean, spacious, and easy to navigate. I was staying near Atocha, but it was just a short Metro ride on Line 1 to get to Chamartin (the metro stop is under the station) In addition to its obvious function as a train hub, there are many small shops in the building as well. It is a bit large, so get there a little early and check the departure boards to see what platform you need. There are plenty of taxis outside if you are arriving and need alternate transportation.
