Mina de origen romano que fue explotada hasta los años 60. Lleva 20 años abriendo al público los sábados, domingos, festivos y todos los días de agosto con pases cada 45 min. desde las 11 am hasta las 19 pm con un pequeño descanso a la hora de la comida. Beautiful city, definitely worth a day trip from Madrid, the train was only half an hour. Everything is so well preserved and really clean, it was like an authentic theme park, if that makes sense, in that you are completely transported to a different world. Lots of narrow winding streets and beautiful buildings, absolutely stunning.

Well worth a visit, through wooded areas onto wooden walkways to see wildlife, lots of hides to look from, we saw geese, cornarants and ducks flying overhead, large birds, herons and even storks and its free entry

Great view of the hanging houses and the Parador. A must visit when you visit Cuenca. From the bridge you get a good feeling of how high perched the old town of Cuenca actually is.
