Leaving the bustle of Rome was a pleasure, but we never expected the Frascati experience to be as special was it was. Pier is an excellent host, and after showing us a round the lovely town ... only a short train ride from Rome but it feels like another world ... we were introduced to some of the local specialities, including porchetta. The food was delicious and we dashed to catch the last train with very full tummies. This is a MUST for anyone who enjoys good food and wine, and would like to just have a slow evening.

The Roman castles are located in the territory of the ancient Lazio Vetus, about 30 km from Rome, they are a series of small villages scattered on a territory of volcanic origin, immersed in the green of hills, woods and lakes; there are fourteen villages rich in history, traditions and popular festivals. The origin of the name of the Roman castles dates back to the fourteenth century, when many inhabitants of Rome took refuge in the castles of Roman feudal families such as: Savelli, Annibaldi, Orsini and Colonna, to escape the economic and political difficulties caused by the Avignon Prison. The Roman castles are located on the hills, in the area of the Alban hills, a short distance from each other; this holiday day will give you the opportunity to visit the main hill towns of Nemi, Ariccia and Castel Gandolfo; in the whole area of the castles, agriculture is the main economic and employment resource, together with the production of excellent and renowned wines.

I did a day trip of Rome a number of years back with my daughter using DGS, I cannot recommend them highly enough the whole experience was terrific and the guide went out of his way to make sure we saw all the best sights as well as explaining the history and significance of each site we visited. We had rebooked to do another full day trip with DGS but due to the virus this has been postponed until we can return to Europe again I would thoroughly recommend using DGS for your trip around Rome and any other trips you want to make

We had such a great time, lovely hostess who told us all about the small town Frascati! Then we were introduced to a great pizza maker who makes the dough for over 50 years! What a great way to experience authentic Italian food and do something with your own hands.

Absolutely amazing time exploring Rome on a Vespa with the very informative Giorgio. He made sure he didn’t ride too fast so we could keep up and showed us some really interesting places. He asked us where we had already visited to make sure we visited places that we hadn’t seen before. His knowledge was incredible and was evident he is very proud of his home city. Excellent COVID safety measures in place. I would 100% recommend this trip as there is no better feeling than zipping in and out of Rome traffic like a local.
