We camped here for 3 nights in February. We were in the Shady Pines campground, site 73. This is a good site, private and backs up to the woods. The only problem is the park decided to burn off underbrush and the fire got away from them. About 75% of the campground was burned up, with the trees and bushes having a lot of damage. This is a shame because it was a very pretty location. Now you look at black fire scars everywhere. It might come back but it will take a couple years. The campground is also low. It had rained for 2 days before we got there and there was still standing water everywhere. It was too cold for mosquitoes and no seeums in February but I imagine there are plenty later in the year.
The campground has a great location with a boardwalk to the beach. It is connected to the other campground by a boardwalk too. There are two bathhouses and although they are old they were clean. There aren't many hikes in the park except along the beach. We did one going into the Wilderness Preserve from the campground but it was not worth the effort. Mostly sand and not much shade. There is no access to the bay in this area of the park, just a swampy marsh area. I wouldn't want to do the hike in the summer when it is hot and the bugs are out.
Most of the campers when we were there were retirees from up north. We were the youngest people in the campground!
They don't allow dogs on the beach which is unfortunate. We will come back but will try the Gulf Breeze campground and hope it is better.

We took a ride Thursday with Hayley. Tropical storm Cindy messed the schedule up, but Kelly and Hayley worked with us and got our ride rescheduled. Horses were really well cared for and happy. Hayley stopped and took our pictures, and was just a joy to talk to. I would highly recommend Broke A Toe for a beach ride. They will take good care of you.

So Cape San Blas is a General area near the AF base, but we recently hiked from 30B to the True “Cape of Blas.” It was a little over a mile, great beach hike, managed only by foot since you have to climb over downed trees. Also, I believe it’s part of the AF base. Overall, good hike, wonderful beach and cape, lots of shells.

If you are in need of fresh seafood in Mexico Beach, this is your place. Shrimp, and fresh caught fish. They have red snapper, grouper and tuna...they have a delicious smoked tuna dip! They steam your shrimp in your choice of seasonings. Owners very friendly. They also have a gift shop on sight.

A brand new bar on Cape San Blas. A place to kick back and enjoy great craft beer and wine on tap and live music. We open at 2 pm Thursday-Sunday and 4 pm Monday-Wednesday and close no earlier than 9 pm, Eastern Time. Happy Hour is 5-6 with a dollar off all drinks. We have live music every evening. Tuesdays are open mic nights.

A wonderfully inviting and refreshing destination in Cape San Blas. We went there with another couple and enjoyed ourselves greatly. Butch was one of the nicest, most genuine folks I've ever met. We also loved playing ball with his dog, Ozzy. He was quite the entertainer! Butch's main goal was to make sure our time on the water was comfortable and fun! It was both. My kids nor parents had ever kayaked before this trip. Kayaking here was very easy for all first-timers. The water in the bay is shallow and clear making for an easy paddle with lots of marine life to see. We were able to stand up in waist deep water about 50 yards off shore and wade through the sea grass. The sandbars were fun to explore as well. We enjoyed it here so much that we came two mornings in a row. Be sure to wear water shoes, wear a swim suit, bring water and some snacks because before you know it, several hours have gone by and you arent even aware of how much time you've actually spent on the water. It was an amazing experience and we will definitely visit again next trip to the Cape.

We went on an 11am horseback ride that started at Serenity Park with 2 new friends we had met while vacationing at Cape San Blas. Julie was our guide and was very informative and friendly. The horses were great! I rode Wiz, who although he was an older horse, was happiest when he had no other horse in front of him. My husband rode Pitchfork, another awesome horse, very easy to handle. It was lovely to be able to ride right on the beach. Would love to ride with Rockin M again!

This lighthouse is a replica constructed on top of a private residence. Please respect the owners property and privacy by taking photos from areas accessible to the public.
This light has a long and unusual past. It has been bought and sold several times with the last owner adding the replica light to the top of their private home.
While you cannot get in to look at the light, it is still a nice see.
I recommend this as a brief stop for lighthouse lovers.

Had a wonderful ride today with my fiancé. The weather was perfect. This family owned business ( who have been around horses all their lives) made the ride very special with a stop along the beach to take pictures to make the ride unforgettable !
The horses are well trained, loveable, and patient with even the novice of riders! If you are looking for a beach ride and are in the area, I highly recommend you reserve with Two But Stables!

Our three week March holiday near Port Saint Joe was rich with great experiences, but our half-day excursion with Captain Roger ranks at the very top. The man knows his stuff and the Port Saint Joe inland waters, which he harvests faithfully (according to other reviewers) without benefit of high tech fish finder or other sophisticated gear. Despite four days of wind and rain that turned the water of St. Joe Bay murky, he steered our party—my wife of 49 1/2 years, a perennial fishing buddy, and myself—from one school of Spanish mackerel to another. At the end of the four-hour day, we'd caught 28 of them! All keepers! Everything went great, even when my ball cap blew off, and Captain Roger snagged it before it disappeared into the drink. Back on the dock, Captain R. did a masterful job of cleaning the fish, which we enjoyed fried on several occasions. No need to bring tackle or bait, Captain R. provides everything. Polarized sunglasses, however, will make your experience far more enjoyable. We'll look up Southern Tide Charters if ever we visit the Forgotten Coast again.
