A beautiful piece of the Calgary skyline. I didn't do anything here except view the building amongst the other buildings in Calgary and it certainly stands out!

The New Central Library

Reviewed By davidsoch

Not all public buildings can live up to the poetry of this Snohetta designed masterpiece. The LRT slips under it unobtrusively. The curved wood slats both draw you in and help you look out. The Children's section is full of corners and nooks and crannies for discovery. The path you take walking through the space around and around the central atrium is continually evolving, until you reach the reading room at the top. The way the windows are shaped and how that expresses itself on the inside is sublime. A beautiful place to sit and take in a book.

Olympic Plaza

Reviewed By CalJay - Calgary, Canada

This is such a great space for all seasons. In the winter it's free ice skating. In the summer it's a spray pool. Perfect for cooling off in the heat of the day. It's a great piece of history reminding people of the 1988 Olympics. Read names of people that donated to the park on the bricks! Olympic Plaza also hosts several events every year. One of my favourite parts of the city!

International Avenue

This 35 block stretch of 17th Ave SE is a Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ). Enhancements include murals, a street clock, and improvements to streetscape. Many other BRZs in Calgary (Kensington, Uptown 17, 4th St) have been very successful. International Avenue is also involved in the very successful Globalfest fireworks competition and multicultural festival.
