Arnold Rim Trail

Reviewed By travelwhere - Modesto, United States

My friend & I entered at the logging museum & hiked in for 3.09 miles until we saw a vista. ( then turned back) The trail was well maintained & overall well marked. ( one of our better marked hikes, for sure) Except at marker 7, later, we wondered if we should have taken the right fork down to see San Antonio creek. It looked like the arrow was directing up the hill. It would have been nice for the markers to tell the distance to the next place of interest. We went over to the San Antonio outlook but did not see anything. We heard water. The first part .8 mile was paved. It was a great hike & we would highly recommend it. The trees & the chirping birds were awesome. We are looking forward to returning again.

La Contenta Golf Club

Reviewed By DavidR924 - Merced, United States

I have been hearing about La Contenta for quite some time. It was one of those "I have to play it someday" courses, but it seemed like we just couldn't make it up to Valley Springs to play the course. My wife and I finally did. What a course. The course was in immaculate shape from the tees to the fairways to the greens. I can honestly say that the course will keep your interest throughout your round with a mix of hilly and flat holes. It is a tough course, but fair and just is a lot of fun to play. The course was closed for a few months after undergoing a management/ownership change but its good to see it back. Reopening brings its own set of challenges and bot the restaurant and pro shop staff are still getting things sorted out, although our visit was very positive. I can't wait until our next visit. Welcome back and I wish you the best La Contenta!
