We are a small tour and rental company in Cabuya, usually known as SOLO BUENO TOURS and now called CABUYA TOURS & RENTALS. Cabuya is a special spot that offers the possibility of doing many activities. It is infact visited by hikers, surfers, water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. We offer different types of tours, like spear fishing and snorkeling, boat tours, Cabuya Island tour, Cabuya's secret waterfalls tour, horseback riding, Cabo Blanco Natural Reserve tour and many others. The tours are done by Jeffry, a local native guide, who will guide you to wonderful nature experiences! Here you can also rent cars or quads and equipments for snorkeling and surfboards. If you are interested in learning Spanish or English, our agency offers Spanish and English lessons too.

We were on our way back to Montezuma from a hot & sweaty 6 mile hike in Cabo Blanco and saw the signs for cold beer & tapas. We followed them down the dirt road and - behold! - beer heaven! La Selva makes some of the best craft beer that we had in Costa Rica. Across four of us, we tried seven of their beers and also their amazing sparkling lemonade (it's in the bottle in the case - I regretted not buying more bottles of it to take back to our hotel). Their beers range from light to dark and every one that we tried was quite good. The tapas were also delicious - we tried the hummus, the nachos (pillowy fried dough bites) and the yucca fries (our favorite). It's a nice setting with mostly outdoor seating, from comfy couches to overturned oil drums as seats with cross sections of trees for tables. The owner wasn't particularly friendly but no matter. It was still a great experience and I'd definitely recommend it, especially after a visit to the Isla de Cabuya or Cabo Blanco.

Wild Sun is just beautiful, and Jeremy and his team have many wild animals they are rehabilitating. The best thing was seeing dozens of scarlet macaws flying over the center. Wild Sun has a scarlet macaw reintroduction program, and the released birds return for daily feedings while they learn to forage for themselves. I highly recommend a visit.

My first visit to Cabuya Island was in 2005. It was unforgettable. A friend offered to take me by kayak. There was a ceremony happening that day and you could see locals walking out to the island during low tide. It's not often you get to witness a funeral on a tropical island surrounded by the sea. I've been back a few times and depending on the weather the air can feel very heavy adding to the authenticity of the experience of a cemetery island. I highly recommend. The fishing boats perched on land at low tide also make for great photo ops. If sunny bring a hat and plenty of drinking water.
