Van Stapele Koekmakerij

Reviewed By LisaMDL - Adelaide, Australia

Just phenomenal...... The canals of Amsterdam are just divine and SO are their cookies!!! Forget stroopwafels, if that’s what you think you must indulge in when in Holland.... these cookies from Van Stapele are the winners! We queued for around 20 mins - possibly the most rewarding queuing experience ever!! And the best value €2 ever spent. Yes, somehow we resisted and stuck to a single cookie each, neglecting the ability to purchase a magic 7 permitted cookies per person. I think if I lived in Amsterdam I’d binge on the full 7 per day if the queue didn’t stand in my way :) A fantastic business model. And also a genuinely friendly and impressive counter experience (congratulations!) from a woman who must get so sick of the monotony of selling the same product over and over to hoards of tourists, yet doesn’t show it. She must be intoxicated by those decadent warm cookie smells wafting around.....

De Posthumus Winkel

I visited the Posthumus shop and was knocked of my socks! An amazing collection of lovely stamps, inks and don’t start me over the paper! Such lovely staff who explained everything on the how’s and showed me lots of gorgeous examples. Very friendly and they took all the time to assist me. I could take all pictures I desired for inspiration and the colours used. There were three stamps not available but I was handed the url for the webshop which has all the supplies! I can wholeheartedly recommend this shop and look at the Christmas collection and amaze your friends. If your not a crafter, at least pay a visit to the shop. The building and interior are so worth your whole! What a pleasant visit, a hidden gem in the centre of Amsterdam!
