The fire tower is a very short walk from the carpark and is very easy to do with children. The tower provides amazing views from the top! We also did the crater walk which was lovely. Again, this walk is easy and quite fine for children.

This cemetery was the second opened in Victoria in 1852. It is well presented with new, clear signage marking the internal roads and even the walks between the various sections. The old denominational section is full of old graves with headstones and the lawn sections are well-maintained and neat. A very interesting nook in the cemetery is the Dell of Memories - at the corner of North and East Terraces. People with family buried elsewhere can come here to remember them, sit and look at the water trickling over rock pools in a quiet, shady area. There is also a small Chinese section to be found at the side of the North terrace. I last reviwed this course some three years ago. But on a recent visit, boy, has it improved. All couch fairways were lush, beautifully presented and shaped. Greens, as usual, were fast and arguably up there with the best in country Victoria. This time, too, bunkers had a good bed of sand, well groomed and edged. The Club now has some 20 carts for hire with discount deals pretty attractive. Mid-week traffic is fairly light with Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays usually being best. There are well-supported comps on on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, so visitors should steer clear of these.. Buninyong GC is now a seriously good golf course with a few km of Ballarat, and an easy drive from Geelong and Melbourne. Recommended.
