Hemmant Trail

Pretty easy walk. Reasonably dry in spite of the constant rain from the night before. Can be done one way very quickly. Went one way (1km) & walked along the road by the golf course, into the town centre and back to the car park by the mosque, approximately 3.5km round trip.

Bishop Trail

We hiked this trail on a morning in late December when the fog had rolled in. The scenery was amazing in the mist. The weather made bird watching a little more difficult but we still got to see some species. The birds were not super active when we went but that's just the luck of the draw. We also heard tree frogs calling and saw two foot-long millipedes, which were amazing! Some parts of the trail before Muar Cottage aren't fully clear. We (mid-20s able-bodied couple) had to crawl through a tunnel of vegetation at one point. We were fine with it, just keep in mind if you have anyone in your group who might struggle with that sort of activity. We started on Hemmant Trail and hiked through to the end of Bishop Trail, which is easy to do if you bring a map. Would recommend this trail.

Like I said – it’s the best place on this mountain. Opens at 9 am and closes at 5 pm.My bro arrived with his family (with 4 children) around 4.45 pm; they could still enter then. He reached the flying fox spot by 5 pm, they still allowed him to play. So we ended up exiting the place circa 5.40 pm. 1. Flying fox - Saw previous review(s) about the age limit and stuff. Not now. In fact, they even allow 3-year-olds to do it together with parent. The guy before me had his 3-year-old girl strapped together down the zip-line =) - If children wanna do it alone, minimum age is 10 years old and of course, they must be able to complete both the short hike and climb towards the tower on the other side of the reservoir. - RM 20 / ride; which is pretty decent if you ask me - Enjoyed the short boat ride, short hike, and short climb up the tower. - They didn’t allow us to bring anything though, like phones and stuff when we do it. meh, as long we enjoy it, right? =) 2. Feeding the fish - I loved this part =D but if you put on your best outfits and expensive footwear, you might wanna take a step back =D those fish swarmed the surface like crazy! - RM 2 for the fish pellets, which was also pretty reasonable for me coz the packet is quite big. Children’ll love this as long as they aren’t afraid of fish swarming in front of them =) 3. Boat peddling - I don’t remember the price, maybe RM10 or RM15 for a 15-minute ride, coz I didn’t ride it but I saw the posters. ***They did however, kept the gate closed after a max number of visitors have entered. So you might wanna check your timing and get ready to queue if necessary Cons: parking area’s limited, I think people can squeeze around 10 cars around that area, but that’s it. You’ll need to make a U-turn down the road if that happens. There’s an abandoned resort and JKR bungalow at the end of that road.
