Buckhannon is the only incorporated city in, and the county seat of, Upshur County, West Virginia, United States, and is located along the Buckhannon River. The population was 5,639 at the 2010 census. Buckhannon is home to West Virginia Wesleyan College and the West Virginia Strawberry Festival, held annually on the third week of May. The city is located 115 miles northeast from the capital city of Charleston and 140 miles south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

We were certainly very impressed with the presentation by the owners of the complete glass making process that included pulling the raw glass from the furnace to adding color to glass and finally making finished products. The presentation by the father/son owner team included the actual glass making process with audience interaction and a history of glass making in Weston area. It was a very pleasant and informational presentation. This is a family owned business and everyone that I encountered was very knowledgeable and pleasant. There was a gift shop that had beautiful handmade glass products that could be purchased. We purchased several of their lighted Christmas tree ornaments which are beautiful on our tree. My wife liked the glass earrings and we purchased a couple of sets of these. I would recommend anyone that is the Weston, WV area stop in and visit this business.

Went as a family and did the 2.4 mile hike, it was beautiful along the river and in the woods, there could be a little more maintenance on the rails but it was easy to see where to go. Definitely a place to go back to.

besides the statue of a man that most kids these days have never heard of, there is the entrance to the old Great Bend Tunnel, now with a floor of water...next to the old tunnel is the operational one which if lucky, you will see a train....and over in the other corner of this hidden park is a tiny train world for kids, with signs, and mini train cars to sit in and work the levers....there is also a port a jon, and a covered picnic pavilion on site

Paying $4 to enter was a reasonable price but in mid October there was not a lot to look at. They had elk and buffalo to look at and a lot of geese. We did not see much else. We did talk to a very knowledgeable ranger for a bit but a lot of walking which is not easy in riding boots.

My husband and I were passing through Weston and decided to tour the asylum. We did the four floors historic tour with Steven as our guide. We learned a plethora of information on the history of the asylum, the architecture, and the restoration process. Steven was a great guide! We enjoyed our afternoon and would love to return for the other tours and events!

Mr. Hinkle makes some wonderful and unique glass items for his gift shop. He has small to larger pieces of glass for sale. Blowing glass demo is open by appt. only. You should call in advance to see when they will be blowing glass. The gift shop is open M-Fri. from 9-5PM. and on Sat. from 9-2PM. He has a website that lists some of the items available to purchase. The shop can be tricky to find on your first visit. Directions are route 33 to Buckhannon,WV., then take route 20 South through town for about 5 miles. Turn left on Sago Road and follow signs. They have a sign out on route 20 and Sago Rd. I would call the shop for better or more detailed directions. Prices on the small items are not that bad, but prices can get expensive for the bigger and more detailed pieces. There are not that many glass shops left in the United States, mostly small independent ones. If you love art glass, then you really should visit.

We currently have around 20,000 items on display, including the 2nd largest collection of Steuben art glass in the world, the National Marble Museum, and our Lady Jane stained glass doll house. Traveled some very rural back roads trying to find this place, and when we tried to call to find out the location we had absolutely no cell service. Once we got back to civilization we called the number and it was disconnected. Not sure this place is in business any longer.
