We visited Kitsap Playland for the first time in early January 2020 for my nephew's 2nd birthday. The birthday was a small gathering of immediate family members so the private party room wasn't rented - we just arrived at the same time and enjoyed the public areas. We arrived promptly at 10:00 when it opened and I was surprised so many other parents had the same idea. There was already a line to get in and by 10:30, I'd estimate there were about 25 kids running around. The small toddler area was perfect for our 17 month old. He loved stacking the giant (soft) blocks and knocking them down. There also a small slide, plastic food cart, and other toys for imaginative play. Our near-3-year-old liked the big kid area and could tackle every obstacle by himself except the rope tree. (There were some large kids playing roughly on it during most of our stay and I didn't want our son to get hurt). He also enjoyed the bounce house and the foot-powered cars that are available for free. Despite all the little hands that touch everything, the Playland was incredible clean and well kept. I'm pretty sure they even wax the slides because they went FAST! We will definitely be back!

Our children, ages 8, 10 & 12, all enjoyed this museum. They learned some stuff with the help of the scavenger hunt, but they especially enjoyed the kids' play area. There are multiple hands on exhibits. There is also a gift store. You can ring a bell if you give a donation. The museum is down by the Harborside Fountain Park and the ferry terminal.

USS Turner Joy Museum Ship

Reviewed By WIfamilyof7 - La Crosse, United States

I've toured a few museum ships since separating from the Navy years ago and, in my opinion, this is one of the best opportunities to explore a US Navy vessel. On ships like the Battleship Wisconsin or Battleship Missouri, there is just so much of the ship you don't have access to. On the USS Turner Joy you can explore almost everything! I always want to go, into the engine room. In most museum ships you can't, at least not much. The audio stations make the self guided tour easy and fun for anyone that is in to these former navy ships. I loved the tour. We went on a week day in October. It wasn't crowded and we didn't feel pushed to keep moving. We could linger around as much as we wanted. Personnel around to ask questions that were very helpful. Take the pleasant 1 hour ferry ride from Seattle to Bremerton for this cool piece of history!

Bremerton Bug Museum

Reviewed By KimB007 - Seattle, United States

When my toddler Grandson learned we were taking him to see bugs, snakes, butterflies and lizards at the Bug Museum he couldn't contain himself! "Are we there yet?" ... "Are we there yet?" is all we heard as we drove to the museum. He grinned from ear to ear! There's ample parking and lots to see when you arrive. There is no cover charge. It's all by donation. Once we got inside all we heard were squeels of delight and joy as he bounced from one exhibit to the next. There are activities for the kids to do and coloring pages that kids can take home as well. We saw tarantulas, butterflies, snakes, bearded dragon, legless lizard, turtles and all sorts of other creepy crawlies. They offer a wide selection of activities you can purchase too. Including a grow your own butterfly kit. Puzzles, lollipops, bug house, bug jewelry, dinosaur puppets, lots of fun toys for kids to learn with. We had a fun visit! You will too.
