If you want to get an up close and personal look at Lake George, this is absolutely 100% the way to go. Bolton Boat Tours is a family run business with a home port at the Treasure Cove Resort on Lake Shore Drive in Diamond Point that is easily accessible in less than 10 minutes from the Village of Lake George all the way up to Bolton Landing. Father and son captains Ted and Tim both will go out of their way to ensure your time with them is customized to the exact activities you want to do in the locations you want to see. We booked a tour with Captain Tim last week, and despite the chilly and overcast conditions, it was the highlight of our vacation. Tim has been navigating Lake George since he was in Elementary School, and his knowledge and love of the lake and its natural inhabitants was infectious. In our two hours together, Tim managed to show us many of the natural highlights that the narrows section of Lake George contain, took us to Paradise Bay and allowed my oldest son to try his hand at some fishing (the weather here was actually a blessing, as we had the entire Bay to ourselves!), took us over to Glen Island at my wife's request to rekindle some childhood memories, and even managed to gently coax my extremely anxious son out on to Super Mable for some tubing, which he absolutely loved. Our only regret was that we only booked for two hours.
Bolton Boat Tours is a class operation. The 27' boats they run are well maintained and extremely clean. The bow seating is perfect for taking in the scenery of the Lake, and all of the safety equipment is top notch. Look, I spent 8 years as a Boatswain's Mate in the United States Coast Guard. I am completely comfortable and capable of piloting a small boat on my own. Despite that knowledge and ability, Captain Tim provided my family and I an experience that I would not have been able to recreate. This family's knowledge of the area and love for what they do and where they do it is unmatched. You can't help but stumble into some truly beautiful scenery when you're in the Lake George region, but if you want to see what is truly the best the lake has to offer, you should book a tour with Bolton Boat Tours.

Great place to rent a boat. Friendly staff and good instructions on boat use. Wife and I rented a deck boat for all day use. we were given a map of lake and told of points of interest to see. Had a great time checking out Lake George and cruising the lake. Checking in of boat at the end of day was easy. Will try to rent another day before leaving this summer. Thanks to all the staff.
Just a note to Future renters, there is a boat rental shop in Lake George that charges a flat rate of $120.00 for gas, we were out on lake for 7 hours and used 8 gallons. Check gas prices before you rent.

Heard about this place but words cannot do it justice. Walking in the smell overwhelms the senses. Just saying try the German potato salad makes my mouth water. The bologna and liverwurst fresh and delicious and beautifully sliced. Porterhouse steak as good as I have ever eaten out or cooked in. Smoked mozzarella, if you like smoked cheese, is to die for. They also stock local cheese spreads and their champagne cheddar spread is perfect with any cracker. If you are in Warrensburg or any where near Warrensburg - stop in and enjoy.

I was completely amazed by this beach! We arrived really early on a Saturday morning (7:30 am), left for a boat tour (AMAZING) and returned at 10 am. The beach was still empty which I thought was unusual because I thought, "Amazing beach, crowded beach". As the time went by, people started arriving, but it was still nice and calm for everybody to relax. We sat by the picnic tables and started up the grill ( a little dirty) a few feet from the beach, unlike other places in New Jersey where you have to walk the desert to walk from the beach area to the picnic area. The bathrooms, however, are a bit farther away, but not too bad (also, they were kinda dirty for being 8am). Anyways, the water was SOOO tranquil and SOOO clean, but it sucked that there were ropes from keeping us from swimming further. I do not mind the 3 + hour to get to this place, and will certainly return next year!!!

A serene and beautiful waterfall located along an unmarked hiking trail in the Lake George system.

It's a short hike to see this beautiful waterfall. Can be crowded on summer days, but worth the trip. Another hike to the Lake as well if you are up to it. Wear appropriate shoes--not flip flops!

The Sembrich

Experience the Golden Age of Opera at The Sembrich Museum, the former teaching studio of Metropolitan Opera prima donna Marcella Sembrich (1858-1935), a pianist, violinist, teacher, Polish patriot and benefactor who summered in Bolton Landing from 1922 to 1934. Here, Juilliard and Curtis Institute vocal students sought instruction from the acclaimed Sembrich. Situated on a wooded peninsula in Lake George, the studio contains memorabilia of a distinguished international operatic career spanning more than 50 years. Visitors are invited to stroll along the shoreline paths and enjoy the pristine, natural beauty of the "Queen of American Lakes" among towering white pines. The Sembrich Museum is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Throughout the summer, The Sembrich presents a series of concerts, lectures, films and special events, including studio talks by distinguished music historians and recitals featuring some of today's finest performing artists. Open daily June 15- September 15, from 10:00-12:30 pm and 2:00-5:00 pm.

On a beautiful summer day, we planned to have dinner at the historic Sagamore in Bolton Landing. While exploring this quaint town, we stumbled upon this small museum. It was an enlightening experience. Marcella Sembrich traveled the world and delighted world leaders with her beautiful soprano voice. The evidence is here. Her memorabilia includes a letter from Mark Twain; a diamond bracelet from Tsar Alexander II, newspaper articles reviewing her performance with Caruso at his initial appearance.

The doscent provided much interesting information about Sembrich. The cottage is located on the banks of Lake George in a beautifully wooded area. A walking path runs through the property, and strategically located viewing areas have seating for those who wish to pause and take in the beautiful views.

There is no admission charge, but donations are appreciated.
