I go to this outlet mall at least twice a year because the deals are awesome and it's the closest Premium Outlets to where I live. Likely it's only 100-120kms-ish away from me. The best two are Woodburn (1hr outside Portland) and Grove City (1hr outside Pittsburgh), but both are very far from me so I don't go there often. This one is close and the deals are almost as good. Heaps of parking spots and lets of decent places to eat not so far away. Definitely a great place to save on clothes, shoes, bags, chocolates, camping gear and even gourmet doggy treats... seriously.

Michigan Military and Space Heroes Museum

Open 7 Days a Week | 10:00am - 5:00pm Michigan's Military & Space Heroes Museum is dedicated to Honoring, Respecting, and Remembering the memories of people from Michigan who heeded the call to military service during America's seven foreign wars. Located in Frankenmuth, the museum was started in order to tell the stories of servicemen and women from around the state and it now contains nearly 700 full collections of personal artifacts and stories of our war time heroes. In fact, Michigan's Military & Space Heroes Museum has gathered so many stories that it is the largest museum of its kind throughout the country and still growing. The museum houses a gallery dedicated to Michigan's governors who have served and galleries that honor the servicemen and women from each of the following conflicts: World War One, World War Two, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and our current War on Terror. Within the World War One room, visitors will find the stories of Michigan's Own Polar Bears. These displays honor the men who formed a regiment of 5500 men, 90% of whom were from Michigan. These men have the distinction of being the only Americans ever to fight Russians on Russian soil. The museum also houses displays for each of the 13 astronauts from Michigan as well as recipients of the nations second highest award for valor, the Cross. The final gallery at the museum is dedicated to Medal of Honor recipients from Michigan and contains the largest collection anywhere in the United States, of Medals of Honor. Visitors to Michigan's Military & Space Heroes Museum can expect to be overwhelmed by the stories of sacrifice, bravery and valor that they will find there as the museum strives to Honor, Respect and Remember those who have served in our nations military.

A truly outstanding military museum! The exhibits are well displayed, and well described.
My particular interest is medals, and the museum holds the largest public display of Medals of Honor in the US. It's a relatively small museum, but there's a lot to see, so allow lots of time for your visit.

We’ve been here with our grandchildren several times. We even came one Halloween and that was absolutely hysterical. As others have said, it IS a MUST DO at Halloween time! They go all out for the month of October. Wish we could get there more often but is on the other side of the state for us. It’s summer fare is much fun, is a good park for family. You can see the owners have gone to a LOT of work and imagination. The only down side of this park is that it is old, and it looks that way. Pretty tired and outdated in many areas of the park, which is why I couldn’t give it 5 stars. We’ve gently mentioned this to the owners because we want to see them be successful. It’s a unique place to visit, has much potential value for those visiting the area. But if you aren’t expecting a sharply appointed amusement park, by all means, stop in. We simply overlook its slightly weak presentation because it’s great fun and quite interesting.

Wilderness Trails Zoo

Walk through zoo with over 50 different species. Open May - October. Picnic pavilion, petting area, feed stations throughout the trail to feed animals, and parakeet encounter. Birthday packages available. 3 miles east of Prime Outlets of Birch Run and 4 miles south of Frankenmuth. Fun for all ages. Bring the entire family!

We got a half price Groupon offer and decided to give this stop a visit before leaving the Frankenmuth area. What a great little find. The zoo had lots to see, nice enclosures for the animals, many of whom were up close and personal to view. Beautiful lions, a white tiger and bears as well as lots of other typical zoo finds. I wasn't too happy with the location of the reptile area as we had to walk right past it in order to access other parts of the zoo. Didn't like that aspect as I'd prefer those areas have a bit of buffer for those of us who have phobias/fears. Otherwise, we totally enjoyed walking the grounds and lingering to watch the many varied species. Even the petting zoo was very up close and personal even if just looking. Totally enjoyed our half day here.

My husband and I did the wine tasting with a nice young gentleman. It is so wonderful to be able to taste samples until two people with completely different tastes in wine find a wine they both like. I thank our host for his help (and patience) finding this. We left here happy - with two souvenir glasses and a few great bottles of wine!

Good food with large portions are served with a large beer selection. We had a huge plate of nachos and a good prime rib sandwich. Their beer prices are a little high for the area, but they had a good selection of bottled beer.

It was too hot for much else other than the go carts. The track is well maintained and the second turn lets you slide around if you keep the gas on. Radio controlled carts keep things pretty safe if there's any type of problem on the course.

I really like going here. They have a lot of unique shops--clothing, pet themed, jerky, socks, cupcake, popcorn, crepes, arcade, books, mirror maze, old time photos, ice cream, etc. During warmer months, you board the Bavarian Belle Riverboat from this area too. It's a very nice/safe place to walk around.

A must see when you are visiting Frankenmuth. The building dates back to 1845, and the stained glass windows go from the floor to the ceiling ! Incredible painting of Jesus above the alter. Just breathtaking.

Blues, Brews & Barbecue

Reviewed By Dayzdx8 - Lansing, Michigan

Last year it was much bigger and more BBQ places to buy food from, get samples of dry rubs, and enter contests. The Kansas City BBQ Society hosted it both years, but was not there this year. They did send representatives for judging and handing out trophies.

There were only THREE BBQ cookers to buy from, and then carnival booths. There were carnival rides that looked out-dated. The grass in the carnival and BBQ area was not cut at all. The parking area was not cut either and used to be a field no one mowed. I had sandals on and stepped out of the car with my first foot and right into a picker plant that stabbed my foot! Not a good start to the day there. The food was not the greatest from the BBQ vendors.
