What to do and see in Bintan Island, Riau Islands Province: The Best Free Things to do

July 13, 2021 Janean Rudisill

A popular destination for golfers looking for better rates and more accessible courses, Bintan is also a nice way to escape the bustle of Singapore. A ferry ride takes between one and two hours, depending on where you’re headed. From there you can relax on one of the beaches or head inland for hiking and ATV rides or take a ride at the elephant park. There are a couple of towns on Bintan, but the island’s natural beauty is what draws visitors.

A definite must do if visiting Bintan. Excellent massage therapists and really good prices. Half the price of massages at the resorts. Pick up and drop off from hotel is included which makes it so easy. If you go back a second time you get 20% discount. We did 2 hour traditional massage and reflexology two days in a row - heaven. Highly recommend.

A piece of Indonesian paradise. This beach area is truly spectacular and benefits from an unspoilt location on Bintans East Coast. Head here for a day trip to enjoy beautiful coastal walks and scenery. Day out with my wife and scooter saw me park up at Mutiara Beach Club. Lovely quiet resort with a laid back feel. Great base to leave the bike and belongings before returning for wood fire pizza, drinks and a spot of sunbathing. A pleasure and nice change from the jig corporate resorts.
