Cosmic Cavern

We visited the Cosmic Cavern this morning and were not disappointed. Traveling more than 200 feet under the ground we crouched and climbed through multiple rooms in the cave. Our tour guide was fabulous and was able to answer all of our questions. The cave itself is gorgeous, with stalactites and stalagmites and columns, a gorgeous underground lake and of course, cave bacon. I highly recommend this beautiful cave. It’s very affordable and well worth every penny. We have young daughters and they had a blast looking for spotted salamanders, counting tiny brown bats on the cave ceiling, and licking the huge calcium rock! It’s fun for the entire family.

Saunders Museum

My husband & I visited this museum & both enjoyed it very much. There is an extensive collection of handguns; some historically relevant & other weapons that represent the progression through history in the changes from very early weapons to the ones we are familiar with today. In addition, another half of the museum displays various treasures acquired on foreign travels with his wife. Mrs. Saunders China, silver, home furnishings, clothes & accessories are very interesting also. Very worthy stop for a nominal price.

If you like snakes, this is like a personal tour of someone's beloved collection. My kids were impressed with the puff adder and a snake that plays dead. The tour operator was full of information about each of the snakes in their collection and answered all of our questions.

Though I know the story well, I couldn't help but be on the edge of my seat at times. It was so realistic! I loved the fact they used real animals in the scenes--the animals ran through many times from one scene to another. The chariot was drawn by horses as well. The costumes were amazing! You are welcome to use your camera without the flash. Be sure to take a sweater with you. It can get nippy in the mountains. I would go see it again tomorrow.
