What to do and see in Benalmadena, Andalucia: The Best Sights & Landmarks

January 9, 2022 Emerita Lamoureux

While most visitors choose Benalmadena for its glorious beaches, there are plenty of other attractions to keep your family amused. Take a trip out to sea on a boat or a ferry; you can even go whale and dolphin watching. A cable car ride would make a welcome change, or perhaps a visit to Bil Bil Castle. The castle is distinctive with its Arabian architecture, and it hosts concerts as well as art exhibitions. Visit the Sea Life Centre, where you can walk through the transparent tunnels in the underwater park or watch feeding demonstrations; the centre even has a mini golf course. At the end of a relaxing day, Benalmadena becomes a great place for nightlife. Whatever kind of cuisine you are looking for, you are sure to find a restaurant that will suit your family's tastes.

We have visited the Publo on many occasions and it never seems to change it is still as tranquil as ever.. If you like peace and tranquility this is the place for you.The little white houses with bright flowerpots ,quiet narrow streets is wonderful. The view from the top of the Publo are spectacular, looking down over the coast. There are a few little bars and restaurants so no need to go hungry or thirsty. Can't wait to go back.

This church is set on a square above an area of gardens and sea views, the gardens have water flowing through them and some very vocal tiny green frogs.

We were staying in Benalmadena Pueblo and this was just a short 15-20 minute walk down hill (but a steep walk back up) from where we were staying. The entrance fee was just €2.00 which was great value and in our opinion was well worth a visit.

Plaza de Ole

Found this Plaza area on our last visit to Benalmadena a few years ago, on that holiday we often ended up at the Plaza de Ole bar for a couple of drinks. Returned to the bar again this year and once again was not disappointed the owner is a lovely lady who makes you feel welcome kept all table and seating areas well sanitized. If you want a quite drink reasonable priced this bar is well worth a visit or two.
