Grapely Ghost Walk

These Grapely Walks at the beautiful Grand Pre Winery are compilation shows that include ghosts from the 4 towns we haunt; Wolfville, Kentville, Windsor, & Halls Harbour. The 'old-world' winery atmosphere is special, the sun-setting backdrop between the vines is memorable, and the wine quality is superb. A creatively-spooky & tasty way to get a history lesson of a truly unique part of the world. Rain or shine! Reduce your CHILLS, please bundle up! Wear walking shoes, bring bug-spray and an umbrella if need be. We walk from the tasting bar, around the winery and end up at the UNESCO World Heritage Site with the sun setting in the background. Please note, we adjust the route in case of horrendous weather. Check online the day of the walk for all updates. Now in our 10th year, Valley Ghost Walks celebrate the incredible tales from the incredibly-rich Annapolis Valley. A huge thank-you to Just Us! Coffee Roasters of Grand Pre for their fantastic support and sponsorship. These tours are a partial fundraiser for: CentreStage Theatre in Kentville, Edaline Theatre in Wolfville and Quick As A Wink Theatre in Windsor Meet Jerome the GraveKeeper at the Tasting Bar of the Grand Pre Winery 15 minutes before the tour. Still Fired Distilleries

Reviewed By AnyDirectionUChoose - Halifax, Canada

So happy we stumbled upon this place! My husband and I were doing a little "staycation" trip to Annapolis Royal, I saw this cute place as we were driving by and told my husband we had to turn around and go back to check it out! Well worth the stop. The girl behind the counter (sorry, I did not get her name) was lovely. Super friendly, informative, and personable. We had some fabulous samples and of course had to buy some goodies to take home. I never realized moonshine could be so good. During our visit, it was mentioned that pre-covid they do cocktails out of their goods so we definitely will keep them on our radar and be back to try some of those out.

Hard Honey Beverage Company

A group of us, (8) took the short drive out to the Hard Honey beverage company, while visiting Tatamagouche. The owner spent time explaining his process and aspirations. There was a picnic table outside where we sampled the drinks. We really enjoyed the Mojito flavour. More importantly, we supported a “Small Business “. Worth the very short drive. Call first....

Jost Vineyards

Jost Vineyards is situated on over 100 acres by the beautiful North Shores Sunrise Trail. With the largest and longest operating winery in the Atlantic region, the Jost family pioneered the industry, supporting the majority of today's independent vineyard operations. Their estate bottled whites, reds and specialties are lovingly crafted in the cellars and are available for sampling, sale and shipping from the winery store. Hike, bike and picnic with spectacular vistas of the vineyards and beautiful beaches of the Northumberland coastline. The area enjoys a mezzo climate with more days of sun than anywhere else in Atlantic Canada. Enjoy local cheeses with a perfectly paired wine on the licensed terrace and take a vineyard tour. If you are not able to make the drive, Jost wines can be discovered at most local restaurants, liquor stores and your favorite neighbors back deck.

This was our second time to Jost. Once in 2017 for a tasting and look around, loved the place. This year we were back for the Stomp. We arrived on Friday to check on a few logistical issues. We met the owners, Carl and Donna. We explained we were from out of town for the Stomp. They showed us our VIP seats and explained how the day would go. They were very friendly, genuine, and generous. We stayed for a tasting and decided to stay for a glass of GBFR while enjoying the sun on the patio, one glass led to another and another. We just had such a great experience that day. The following day was the Stomp Festival and it was amazing. The talent was so good, the vibe was like no other festival we’ve been to. Well organized and great food and clean facilities. A world class event at a world class venue!
