We were staying in a vacation rental north of Lyon while attending the Women’s World Cup and had initially wanted to take a Beaujolais Wine Tour on one of the off-days. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a tour or private tour guide that wasn’t already booked. As a result, we moved further North and started looking at Burgundy wine tours. Luckily by-chance, we booked The Wines of Burgundy Day Tour with Pieter Smits. We had a wonderful tour with Pieter as we visited several villages, chateaus, and wineries. Not only were we able to sample some fine wines but Pieter also selected a restaurant where we had a great lunch. Pieter is very engaging and knowledgeable which helped make the tour very enjoyable. It's an experience I will always remember.

Passionate about travel and architecture, Céline and Yvan ZEYSSOLFF aim to democratize one of the most beautiful French heritages: LE VIN. The estate is no longer used only as a working tool, but as a place of exchange where wine is told through family and regional history. This estate, rich in history and heritage, is a place of sharing where wine enthusiasts or not, emerge enriched not only culturally but emotionally. It is an old family cellar dating from 1850 where history and modernity mingle! The immersive experience in the cellar is unique in France! You will taste 5 Alsace wines and leave with a picnic basket to enjoy in the vineyards or at home! Children are welcome! The visit is free for them, come without registering them! However, if you register the children a picnic basket will also be given to them.

While I visited Strasbourg for work, I had some days off to spend. I'm really glad I stumbled upon Zeyssolf wine estate after googling wine-related places to visit close by. Gertwiller and Zeyssolf estate are really easily reached from Strasbourg, making it a perfect destination to visit by either a car or train. The hospitality was tremendous, English is spoken really well and the estate itself is esthetically pleasing. The wines are excellent and I was glad to find other products from small producers in the greater area sold there, too. The prices at least off-season in February were extremely affordable; the service I received was well beyond the price I paid. Please, do visit this excellent location off- and on-season! You won't be disappointed!

Maison ZEYSSOLFF is one of the rare cellars in Alsace with around twenty century-old oak casks each with a capacity of 10,000L still used for the vinification of its wines. His great curiosity is the ZEYSSOLFF barrel, made in 1897 for the Universal Exhibition in Paris (1900). It is still used today. The immersive experience with projections on lightning bolts and sound work is unique in France. Children are welcome during the visit, it is suitable for everyone. Our domain has been in organic conversion since August 2018.

Very modern building built on a very old cellar with huge wooden barrels, making a grand crust Riesling and several others Alsace wines. Wonderful explanation by the Sommelier who has a great sense of humour and a good knowledge of wine. We tried four including Klevener de Heiligenstein. Well made and delightfully fresh.

Domaine Sylvie FAHRER & Fils has been a family business since 1932. Fourth generation of winegrowers, we are happy and proud to be able to show you all of our know-how. We are in the last year of organic conversion. To date, we own 11 hectares of vines located between the municipalities of Saint-Hippolyte and Rorschwihr. Thanks to the different terroirs on which our vines grow, we are now able to present up to 20 different wines. We work on mostly young wines (two to three years old), only a few older vintage wines are to be discovered in our cellar.

We did their Alsace Discovery Tour with our 3 year old and 11 month old. It was fantastic. The car was immaculate and came with the car seats already installed. The driver was so friendly and helpful with the kids and understanding when our baby cried in the car a few times. He explained a lot about the history of the area and was very engaged with us. We would have skipped the castle to spend more time at the winery. The winery was also kid friendly. Can’t recommend enough. Fantastic experience.
