What to do and see in Balearic Islands, Balearic Islands: The Best Performances

September 18, 2021 Leonardo Torrence

The brightest stars of Los Baleares are Majorca, Ibiza and peaceful Minorca. Situated between France and Africa, the archipelago's islands each have distinct characters. Majorca is the most developed and offers a mass of hotels, fast food joints and crowded beaches. Ibiza is loved by a hard partying set, including many gay visitors. It is also increasingly popular with upscale travelers, drawn by the chameleon island's reputation as "the new Provence." Pick an island and stake a claim on its sand.

The show starts at 20.30. - Duration of the show: 1 hour 30 minutes. - A glas of wine and a Mallorcan "Pa amb Oli" included in the ticket.

We have recently returned from our holiday in Palma Nova Majorca. Although we have visited there many times we have never visited the Pirates show which is a short distance away in nearby Magaluf. Because we where meeting my son & his family there we decided to have a family night out together as we are not often together. We arranged to all go to the Pirates show. All I can say is we were really surprised, right from the start of entering we were greeted by the Pirates who entertained the kids. Once inside you are guided to your seating, please note there are different price ranges from 59 euros to 89 euros. The price is inclusive of a chicken, chips sweet corn & a bread roll, which is very tasty, plus all drinks of beer, wine, sangria & soft drinks. Be aware there are people coming around the tables taking numerous photos for you to purchase as well as others offering t- shirts & plastic swords & guns to sell for your children so it can become more expensive if you succumb. However the actual Pirates show starts after the dining & lasts approx 90 mins. I must say it was well worth waiting for, from start to finish it was an amazing specticle to watch with fabulous acrobats & entertainers thru- out. We came away having had a wonderful nights entertainment & although thinking at first it a little expensive I can honestly say it is well worth every penny.

Son Martorellet

Son Martorellet is one of Minorca’s most historical and traditional estates. Our original activity was based on cattle breeding of sheep. Since 1997 we have been exclusively dedicated to the breeding, care and training of the Minorcan Breed horse. The equestrian show was performed for the first time in 2000. Before that the horses where enjoyed by the previous owners, the Devecchi family, originally from Italy. The estate was passed on to the ownership of a firm entirely Minorcan in 2006. Our priority is the promotion of the Minorcan Horse. In order to do so, we cover all equestrian arts: Resident Show “SOMNI”, elite school exhibitions, dressage competitions, on road shows and events not only in Minorca but all around the European territory. We are located on the road to Cala Galdana on the left. You can distinguish by high palm trees and flags horses. We hope too see you there!

El Tren de Soller

Reviewed By KazSteve - Darlington, United Kingdom

This trip is is in two parts to get to the port of Soller, first is an electric train from the station off Plaza de Espania to Soller station that takes you through some beautiful mountainous countryside (train stops at a viewing halt overlooking valley), and second is an old world tram ride to the port through the town square and streets and is a great experience as you pass peoples back doors literally! You then have time for a stroll along harbour and something to eat from the many eateries. Allow time to get back to town and explore square before getting train back to Palma it is very picturesque.Enjoy!
