A short trek through the Mana Village leads to the Bheem Pul. We visited this place in the early hours of the morning.. According to mythology this pul of bridge was constructed by Bheem the strongest of the Pandavas so that their wife Draupadi could cross the furious Saraswati River. The place also has its Geopraphic importance as it happens to be the last village of the Indian subcontinent. Separate bath areas are provided for men and women here. They also provide Changing room, near to the Kund. Vasudhara falls is approx 5 kms walkable trek from mana village, this is very much difficult trek because of high altitude, if you want to go vasudhara falls go early in morning pick local jeep or texi from badrinath to mana village approx 2 kms 30rs (0.5USD) from badrinath to mana village as sharing jeep or texi. and then approx 5kms walkable treak from mana village (last indian village)... first you cross saraswati river through bheem pul and near bheem pul you will see one temple left side from you, In that place dropadi (wife of pandvas according to MAHABHARATA) die here, from dropadi temple to vasudhara fall is average 2.5-4.5 hrs slow walk because of high altitude so carry energy drinks and eatable like chips or kurkure with you. treak but beautiful scenic view. if you are nature lover must go. i love and like vasudhara falls and vasudhara falls treak also.

Brahma Kapal

Reviewed By RamGanesan - Chennai (Madras), India

This place is just a 2 minute distance from the Badrinath temple. In the Hindu religion the story goes on to say that Lord Shiva was relieved of the Bramhahati curse at this place. This place is considered to be a very auspicious place to perform the rituals or tarpana for the ancestors. While I really did not perform any specific pooja or ritual at this place, I did get to understand the experience the poojas performed by some of our friends who came along with us. As is the case with most pilgrim centers it is best to perform such rites with the known priests as there is no specific cost mentioned anywhere and you may be paying much more than what the ritual is supposed to cost. Best is to find out from the information counter at the mandir and then decide.

Ganesh Gufa

Reviewed By RamGanesan - Chennai (Madras), India

From the place where the motor vehicles stop at the Manna village this cave is around a km distance by walk. A small cement path leads to the Ganesha Gufa, Vyasa Gufa and the last tea shop. It is believed that while Vysa recited the Mahabharata in the Vyasa Gufa, Lord Ganesha wrote the same in this cave. There is a small Ganesh temple inside the cave and one can contribute to the upkeep and poojas for the temple. As I had mentioned in my review of the Vyasa Gufa, it will be difficult for people who are physically fit to climb to these caves and spend time in peace. Therefore a little bit of preparation is required and please do carry a lot of water as the day temperature is pretty warm and dry at these heights. These are places of great religious significance and hence one has to go with that mindset and not a mere sightseeing opportunity. There are no restrictions on usage of mobile and cameras, however it is best not to take photos inside the cave.

According to Atkinson (1979), the place used to be a jujube forest, which are not found there today. Vishnu in the form of Badrinath is depicted in the temple sitting in the padmasana posture. According to the legend, Vishnu was chastised by a sage, who saw Vishnu's consort Lakshmi massaging his feet. Vishnu went to Badrinath to perform austerity, meditating for a long time in padmasana.he main shrine houses the 1 m (3.3 ft) Shaligram (black stone) image of Badrinarayan, which is housed in a gold canopy under a Badri Tree.
