May 9, 2022 Darwin Bolte

Ashdod (Hebrew:  אַשְׁדּוֹד‬; Arabic: أَشْدُود‎ Ashdud or إِسْدُود Isdud) is the sixth-largest city and the largest port in Israel accounting for 60% of the country's imported goods. Ashdod is located in the Southern District of the country, on the Mediterranean coast where it is situated between Tel Aviv to the North (32 kilometres (20 miles) away) and Ashkelon to the South (20 km (12 mi) away). Jerusalem is 53 km (33 mi) to the east. The city is also an important regional industrial center.

The day tour to Jerusalem and Bethlehem was very interesting. The group was quite small and we got a great overview of the history and tensions between Israel and Palestine. Amir Call Or was a great guide. I would book a tour with him again anytime. For the Bethlehem part and we also had a local guide who arranged for us to visit the tomb of Jesus without waiting in line. I highly recommend Bein Harim Tourism Services.

This was our second day in Israel touring with our guide, Mickey. It was a excellent full day tour of Jerusalem and Bethlehem with Guided Tours Israel. As she did on the previous day's tour to Galilee, Mickey did a wonderful job of giving us the history of each place that we visited and moving us from place to place so that we didn't miss any of the important sites. It was a very rainy day but we were still able to see and do everything as planned. I highly recommend Guided Tours Israel not only for the great tour that they planned for us, but for the price and communication before the tour that made the day go very well.

As an emerged graduate student of religion and culture, I must admit that this one-on-one tour felt like the perfect class/lecture out in the field. My guide was Elizabeth, a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Tel Aviv, and I confess that from the second we shared some of our common-favourite thinkers, we bonded. I only had an experience like this in Alexandria when visited the Libraries. I strongly recommend this private tour to anyone in this field of studies! A+++
