Mirador de Unamuno

Reviewed By Franarucas - Las Rozas, Spain

One of the best Spanish writers of the 20th century Miguel de Unamuno spent a long time on the island of Gran Canaria When an ancient name and aboriginal settlement arrived in the town of Artenara, he found a spectacular landscape where he admired the beauty of the island and its mountainous formations originated in the volcanoes. From this place where its balcony is today I call the landscape that saw a petrified storm, because from here you can see how the ancient volcano expelled its ashes and lava and they were frozen in mountains There are different viewpoints and balconies, not only one is worth visiting all of them, the town is not very big and also has a church and a hermitage in a cave that are also worth a visit At the end of the town going up a small hill there is a bar-restaurant which is accessed through the mountain and from which I recommend having a snack contemplating the views for the last time before continuing on our way
