What an amazing place. I can’t believe we haven’t gone here earlier. Stunning building with lovely grounds. Up the beautiful staircase or use the lift, you enter a huge area. Big beautiful tables all set out ready for our family gathering. Most of us chose the platters which were great. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Especially to the children in our group. We were inside because of the heat but it would have been just as nice out on the balcony. If you have a large family or a big group, Lambert’s Estate is perfect.

Angaston Blacksmith Shop & Museum

The Angaston Blacksmith Shop (A&H Doddridge forge) is a working blacksmith museum located on the main street of Angaston in the Barossa Valley. Volunteers of the Angaston and Penrice Historical Society demonstrate the art of blacksmithing and guide you through three rooms of blacksmith memorabilia. Established on the present site in 1873, it has survived war, depression and countless technological revolutions to stand today as one of the few remaining main street "smithies" in Australia. It was the industrial heart of the village of Angaston - a place of ideas and work where young and old alike would come to witness the expertise and listen to the stories of the blacksmith. It is a very special place and an extraordinary example of the ingenuity and commitment of a previous era. Open Saturday, Sunday and some public holidays from 1 pm to 4 pm. Tours outside of opening hours by arrangement.
