Certainly a visit , if coming to amarkantak. Its not very crowded and can be covered in 30 mins. The campus is also very clean & there are many small tea shops nearby.

This ancient temple is marvelous reminder of architecture of Kalachuri Period. It was constructed by Kalachuri Maharaja Karnadeva between 1042 and 1072 AD.
I visited the place in May when it the weather was not ideal for extreme heat but I enjoy a lot the place. It was like a time travel of thousand year back.

The fall is so very beautiful that you can spend hour wathing it fall through taking its twists and turns over the stones as if showing its strength that I dont care for your presence. It is unbelievable that quite stream on top can become so ferocious while falling but with an equally sweet music with it. Awesome.

If you are in Mata Sadan hotel it is next door. You can just walk in the place see the temple. It is not fully built and the local people says only once in a year construction takes place!!!

One kilometer from Kapildhara fall of Narmada, this is the second fall of this pious river. While Kapildhara is attached to the name of sage Kapil, this Dudh Dhara is attached to sage Durvasa, considered to be an always angry saint. Dudh Dhara means fall of milk as this fall looks like. One has to walk all the distance from Kapildhara.The fall is not very deep but close to 10 feet.

Amarkantak is origin of many rivers, primarily of Narmada and Sone. River Sone originates at a place called Sonmuda which is about one kilometer from the origin of Narmada. Sone and Bhadra are two streams originating almost at the same place and these two merge to make river Sonbhadra. It falls for 300 feet just 150 feet away from its origin. Such a lovely view, one cant ignore.

this temple is under construction but almost completed. this is a very holy palace because there are 12 jyotirlinga with 11 feet long shiv linga. all 12 jyotirlinga situated separately. 11 feet shiv linga made by a single black stone.you can do "abhishek" by upper stairs.

It is a must go, sacred place with a story. There is a small hole in which if you are fortunate, when you put your hand you will get water. Reaching this place involvs a trekking expedition of almost 2 kms one way. Theres a cave where it is believed that Bhrigu Rishi used to meditate. One has to definitely go inside the cave and come out from the other end. Thrilling experience.

It is a popular place for pilgrims on main road going towards Narmada origin. It is a very large complex with idols of many deities. In fact, it is an Ashram where pilgrims can stay and rest during Amarkantak visit. It is clean and maintained properly. People go to join evening puja which is elaborate and pleasant.
