October is our favorite time to visit Tom's because of all the autumn fest and Halloween activities and apple cider donuts, but we go all year round because of the fresh fruits and vegetables and plants. The homemade pies are fantastic (especially the caramel nut apple), the fudge is delicious (and they'll give you samples), there's a small cafe/bakery that offers great sandwiches and soups, and the plants are always hearty and do well on our garden. Tom's also has a delightful gift shop on the premises--unusual jewelry, soaps, hand lotions, stationery and baby gifts--we buy a lot of presents there. Tom's has been a favorite of our entire family for years. Helpful and friendly staff.

We had a blast with our 7 and 4 year old grandchildren. They loved having so many rides to choose from and we enjoyed the all rides included admission price. The park was immaculate and the rides are in pristine condition. Most rides are nostalgic and from other kiddie parks which makes it very nostalgic. My husband and I commented several times at how nice the park looked (lovely summer plantings, koy pond and all the buildings were freshly painted.
One of the many highlights of the day was getting to visit Santa Claus. He has his own beautifully decorated summer house and each family has a private visit with him. Santa was so sweet with our grandchildren.
Thank you to the owners of Santa Village for restoring this park and making it a magical place. I would say this might be the top kiddie amusement park in the U.S.

This place has two floors of retro arcade games. Pretty much any game my husband or I could remember from the 80s was in the arcade somewhere. My favorite room was where the pinball games are located.

Pay one price and play everything as often as you like. That's the only way. No food or drinks, though. I can understand why. These games are not easy to replace.

Located on Randall Rd., just north of Algonquin Rd., this AMC Lake in the Hills 12 is easy to find, easy to access and easy to park. They have newer amenities in the theatres, including the reclining chairs in the theatres which are really comfortable. If it is a boring movie, or a "chick flick", you should be out in minutes. They do have the Freestyle Coca Cola machines which are really great for a choice of drinks. Our advice is to join the "AMC Stubs" program as there are benefits, both immediate and that accrue.

When I first saw the Gail Borden Public Library I was so impressed with the building. And the location near the Fox River adds to its beauty. The amenities offered by this library to the community are extensive. Of course you can check out books, but they also offer classes on how to use various types of computers, they offer educational programs and hold community meetings there. It is a resource of unlimited information. Elgin is so fortunate to have such an amazing library.

You now have the chance to decide for yourself, up close and personal! Only 13 people will be admitted to his studio in the 'supposedly haunted' Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake for this unique experience. “If you don’t already worship at the feet of Joe Diamond, you should really get on board.” - Varla Ventura, author of “Beyond Bizarre” "Joe Diamond is the Devil" - WGN News "I am totally floored" - You & Me This Morning "That's impossible!" - The Today Show It doesn't matter if you are a believer or a skeptic, we predict you will have a good time!

Joe Diamond's show makes for a very fun, unusual night out. It's especially nice that it's for a smaller size audience, so everything happens close up; there's not a bad seat anywhere. It's obvious that Joe loves his work and loves entertaining; so much thought has gone into his performance, and it's great that he includes the audience as much as possible. We can't wait to return!

Raging Buffalo Snowboard Ski Park

Reviewed By Cbjhome - Algonquin, Illinois

As a surprise for my son's good grades I purchased a group package on Groupon for snowboarding lessons. Of course we picked the only warm day and the place was packed! Yes they could use more help at the rental station and someone to organize the meeting places better for lessons however once we told a worker that we couldn't find our group as the rental place took 40 minutes he gave us a private lesson and that was wonderful! The instructor was a teenager who knew his stuff and really helped my son while talking to him at his level. This winter I plan to give him private lessons again as I highly recommend these!! I called this place a hidden gem because it really is hidden but also its local and you don't have to drive to WI to get a similar snowboarding experience! My last suggestion would be more help at the snack station too. Whether you are snowboarding and coming in starving or an observer which I was you need faster service here!

Overall I recommend! I hope this review helps someone :)

Absolutely beautiful area with swimming, fishing, gliding on water activities, hiking trails, picnic areas , water park for kids plus some really nice places to eat. The landscaping is beautiful leaning to native plants and if you just want to sit and enjoy the view you can do that too. A definite five star experience.
