Many thanks to Ed, the resident gunsmith, for his great ideas and suggestions in my recent exercise of "reimagining" an old rifle! I appreciated his delicate touch in the work required and his masterful problem solving. Superb service and great work! Thanks!

As a Brit, the majority of firearms are something we cannot experience at home. Whenever I visit Canada, I always try try visit a range, and this time was my second successful trip. Previously, having only fired .22 handguns, we visited this range to try something else out. We called ahead in advance, and were able to get straight in, as it was a quiet day. When we arrived at the store, we were greeted by our instructor (Steve, I believe). After signing some forms and a brief discussion of where we were from and what our experience was, he gave us a tour of the store, explaining the many different guns, including some really unusual ones such as a browning .50 cal and a 1920s Thompson machine gun. We then selected our firearms, on recommendation from the instructor - Glock handguns, and AR-15 rifles. We proceeded to the range itself, and in an outer room were given a safety briefing and full explanation of handling, loading and using the firearms we had been given. Once we were set, we then went into the range, and after witnessing a chap firing off an extremely loud revolver of some kind, we spent several boxes of rounds for each weapon, being advised on how to use them and improve our aim, under the close care of our instructor, all while listening to his many amusing anecdotes. For the price we paid, I have to say this was a thoroughly enjoyable few hours, and very interesting and educating too. I can't recommend it enough, and would definitely visit again next time i'm in Calgary. All the staff were friendly and fun to chat with. What more can you ask for?
